The philosophical ideas which resulted in the bloody French revolution too nearly a century to implant themselves in the minds of the crowd. Their irresistible force, once they had taken root, is known. The striving of an entire nation towards the conquest of social equality, and the realization of abstract rights and ideal liberties, caused the tottering of all thrones and profoundly disturbed the Western world. During 21 years the nations were engaged in internecine conflict, and Europe witnessed hecatombs that would have terrified Ghengis Khan and Tamerlane. The world has never seen on such a scale what may result from the promulgation of an idea.
A long time was needed to establish themselves in the minds of crowds, but just as long a time is needed for them to be eradicated.- Gustave LeBon
The first paragraph is a hint of what the Wall Street protesters seek through their recent disruption across America. The second paragraph is the key. This entire movement was copied and pasted by those aged and more experienced adults who tried and failed the same process in the 1960's. While this movement only took 51 years not an entire century to implant, it's been brewing for decades. These radicals know the most impressionable part of any society is the children. That's why they infiltrated the schools with their ideology, protected by a seemly innocent policy of tenure to protect the teachings.
The second phase was to remove morality. They attack the principles of religion and the right to express faith in public, placing morality on the back burner. This process of erosion seeped into our media becoming a indoctrination of immoral activity through acceptance of seeing examples of previously unacceptable behavior by society on the television and in movie theaters. This form of propaganda toed the lie on what's acceptable, moving ever forward toward a society more tolerant of immoral activity.
The third phase was to seek legislation to allow this immoral activity to gain legal status, abortion laws and the creeping attempt to enact same sex partnerships, or marriage are perfect examples.
Phase four is to begin to point fingers and assign blame for the decline of society. While it's been widely known that the process of capitalism born by a free society demands a code of morals, the apathy of society has insinuated that it's now acceptable to remove any code of ethics from business. Now we bring in the indoctrinated youth to assemble and decry foul. Most of then have no idea why they are even present, but they were told it's the thing to do. Sheep herded into a crowd; a crowd where, (as LeBon so aptly states),
"the mere fact that an individual forms part of a crowd, his intellectual standard is immediately and considerably lowered." He also notes, " I need not add that the tendency to exaggeration in crowds is only present in the case of sediments and not at all in the matter of intelligence." You have to wonder if these assembled students were ever taught that by their professors?
This point in our history has a predictable outcome, just revisit the historical records of the radical uprising of the 1960 era. It has the same players in place spurring on the movement. Dorn, Clowart, Piven, Ayers, are all still behind the scenes players of this movement, older and wiser, and learned from their mistakes of the past. They didn't get what they wanted in the 60's, but they never gave up......
God Bless!
