Run To The Border!

There is one single step the federal government can take that would solve a majority of the problems we face in our country today. The amusing part is, it's mandated by the Constitution as part of their job description. Close and protect our borders.

Think about it. If the president is serious about improving unemployment, stopping illegal immigration and returning the illegal "undocumented workers" back, would go a long way to fix that issue. Bears Stearns reports that between four and six million jobs have moved to the underground economy, jobs Americans used to do before the cheap illegal labor became plentiful. Not to mention those jobs are not contributing to the tax base. The illegals who do pay taxes are in the refund category, yet they tax our school and health care systems. Think about how much money is spent in our school systems trying to educate non english speaking students,

The Federation for American Immigration Reform estimates there are more than 425,000 babies born to illegal immigrants yearly, all using the system (Medicaid). In 2006 for example 70% of the births at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas,Texas were the children of undocumented workers. Those births cost $34.5 to Medicaid,$9.5 million to the federal government, and the Dallas taxpayers another $31.3 million. Talk about an economic tsunami! That's just one city from a border state, imagine the California or the Florida stats.

So protecting our borders would cut the burden on health care, a major issue and strain on our state and federal governments. Open employment opportunities and lower the unemployment numbers, thereby easing the strain on both unemployment benefits and welfare recipients. It would reduce crime as 18% of our prisons are occupied by undocumented felons. The school systems would have lower budgets and higher test scores. Finally it would increase our tax base. Anybody else see this as a no brainer? Legal immigrants are not the problem here, but how do you support an illegal population? The term illegal says it all!

An Unholy Union!

Service Workers International Union president Andy Stern said,"We spent a fortune to elect Barack Obama-$60.7 million, to be exact, and we're proud of it." Does anyone else wonder why a union, who's job description is to bargain for employee's rights has turned into a political lobby? After spending that money SEIU had to fire 75 of it's own employees because of the economy. Does the union's membership know where it's dues are going?

I have another question...The Union Representatives have their own union, to negotiate with the union for their labor relations. It's called the Staff Union. Does anyone else find that absurd? Why would an organization dedicated to workers rights, need a union to oversee it's workers rights?

Let's see how SEIU has benefited from financially backing Barak Obama.

Anna Burger former secretary treasurer of SEIU is now a member of Obama's Economic Recovery Advisory Board.

John J. Sullivan former associate general counsel for SEIU is now on the Federal Election Commission.

Craig Becker former associate general counsel for SEIU is now appointed by Obama to the five member National Labor Relations Team, which oversees union elections.

Patrick Gaspard SEIU's vice president of politics and legislation is now the White House political director.

T. Michael Kerr assistant to Anna Burger is now Obama's assistant secretary for administration and management in the dept. of labor.

Scott White Technology project director for SEIU is now on the newly created health information technology policy committee.

They did pretty well, no? Might just be me but, don't' most of those jobs sound made up? So are the unions looking after members labor issues or are they seeking political appointments? Why is it union's support the left wing candidates? Could it be they can be bought? Less than 9% of any union's political campaign contributions over the last decade have been given to the Republican party. For most, none at all. Are due paying members of these organizations aware their hard earned money is being used to buy influence in Washington? Just some questions I'd like answered!

True Love!

I'm not sure if anyone noticed but I've included links off to the right of this page to best selling authors Chris Brady and Orrin Woodward's blogs. Please take the time to visit them! You'll find them chock full of inspiration, economic, leadership, and political tidbits worth sharing. These are two very wise, and wealthy men who aren't afraid to share success secrets with others. I'd like to personally thank them both for inspiring me to read and to ask questions. There is so much knowledge out there in books, and knowledge applied is power! Imagine how powerful America would be if we all read and stayed informed? I'm preaching to the choir here, just the fact you visit this blog tells the world your hungry for more information.

I have to share a funny story. I've had the occasion to travel every weekend of late, so I've spent a lot of time on airplanes. My route returns to Orlando, the happiest place in the world, and is usually packed full of families on their way to visit Mickey and company. Before boarding late Saturday evening, I noticed this typical family, Mom, dad, son, and baby sister, all excited and ready to visit Mickey. As you can imagine mom was a little harried keeping her flock together and focused. It probably didn't help that she was incredibly overbearing. Her husband Saul was constantly directed to achieve her agenda, as was son Joshua. I remember their names because in the course of the three hours we were in each other's company I heard them at least a million times. The funny part is, I never heard her name!

Well poor Saul was directed constantly and usually to direct Joshua. Saul do this...Saul tell Joshua to do that...This poor woman is destine to have a stroke. Joshua needed a lot of tending to, I'm guessing he was about 8 or 9. Saul tell Joshua to wipe his nose...Saul tell Joshua to tie his shoe... I hope your getting the picture! They had a discussion about taking Dramamine for airsickness as she passed on her phobia to her family that they were all going to get motion sickness. Saul, as expected, lost his bid to avoid medicating the family.

They boarded the plane with much to do. Momma hovered over all as she directed Saul to secured the seat belts and position each child by a window for a view. Saul thought he got a reprieve as he and Joshua sat across the isle from ole what's-her-name, not so. Everyone on the plane was familiar with Saul and Joshua prior to take off, mom saw to that! Momma handed Saul an I-pod for Joshua instructing Saul to instruct Joshua," Not to turn it on, until mommy says so." Apparently Saul isn't to be trusted with on and off switches. The final kicker came just prior to take off, mother hen told Saul to tell Joshua to," Chew his gum." Now I know why they explain how to buckle and unbuckle seat belts! Here's the part that amused me, Joshua had swallowed his gum. Pictures of cod liver oil and enimas in Joshua's future danced in my head.

We all survived the flight. Saul Joshua, mom and little sis, are right now visiting some tourist attraction in Florida, and I have a story. Hats off to Saul for his patience and fortitude, he actually lovingly hugged and kissed his wife without being directed to as we left the plane! I hope mom survives the vacation without a stroke, and I'm thinking Joshua will never chew let alone swallow gum again. The cure will teach him that!

Hope this made Monday a little more bearable! You could be Saul yanno!

Propaganda and Our Youth!

The other day I had the occasion to have the "idiot box" grab my attention. True to form it didn't disappoint! There for all the world to see on national TV were two young women from the University of Pittsburgh. They were being interviewed about their role as protesters upset with the leaders of the G-20 summit, being held in Pittsburgh last week. These young ladies appeared to be in their mid to late 20's, so they were well into their education, and if I recall correctly mentioned they we graduate students. So get this....

When asked exactly what they were upset about, these young women replied it was capitalism and the greed it created. They went on to explain how if the top 1%, who control most of the wealth world wide, were made to redistribute their fortunes, every person would have a $44,000.00 a year income. Then came the part where I knew they weren't math majors....She went on to explain that would create a $250,000.00 income for a family of four, and any family should be able to live a wonderful existence on that. It was pretty apparent that some liberal professor had fed them propaganda they never bothered to fact check, as any questioning from that point on went into textbook Saul Alinsky style subject changing. The math not withstanding, I would have loved to ask her what the incentive would be for the top 1% to regenerate that wealth so that same income could be redistributed again the following year? They stood there all doe eyed reciting like parrots some philosophy a radical mentor had implanted.

After the segment I dropped to my knees and thanked the Lord my boys were not this gullible, and misinformed I also prayed for their parents who were obviously financing this folly, likely to the tune of 40k/year. So that begged the question- How does this happen? I've read that the philosophy's taught to our youth will become the policies of the next generation. After reminding myself of this I again hit the floor and prayed to be reaping my reward in the afterlife before this came to be. The positive side is I'm becoming much closer with my creator over all of this!

In the event that doesn't come to fruition, and the man upstairs has other plans for me, I went with plan "B". Where does this foolishness begin, and how do our youth come to these conclusions? We all know youth is impressionable. Most children spend the bulk of their day outside your influence, I.E. public school. Somewhere between 6 to 8 hours of kids 24 hour time cycle, five days a week, is spent with a stranger. A stranger who's income is defined by the Government and a left leaning teacher's union. I've done many posts describing how the unions are in bed with some very radical left wing organizations, one of the stronger left leaning organizations is the Tides Foundation. Many of their advisors and board members share upper level management positions with both the unions and the foundation. Tides produced this video and recommended it be used as a teaching tool in our school system, and it has....

www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLBE5QAYXp8

Please take the time to watch this. Then have your school age children view portions of it, and ask them if they've ever seen it. If they have, you need to do some damage control. It's filled with half truths, and flat out lies. It's accompanied with a test, and literature, to insure the message was absorbed. Should your children be victims of this propaganda, raise the roof. Consult the teacher, principle, and the school board. Insist they understand this is not acceptable! You'd be amazed how many parents have found out their children have seen this multiple times in school.

If that's not enough to fire you up try this little ditty some elementary school children were taught...

Oh, What a Tangled Web They Weave!

I'm sure we've all faced the frustration of dealing with the post office. It stands as on of the greatest examples of how inept our Government is when handling anything, especially business. Let's take a quick look at what your postage pays for...

The US Postal Service
National Association of Postal Supervisors
National Postal Mail Handlers Union
National Rural Mail Carriers Union
National Association of Letter Carriers
American Postal Workers Union
US Postal Inspection Service
Office of the USPS Inspector General
Board of Governors
Postal Rate Commission
Senate Government Affairs Subcommittee
House Subcommittee on Federal Workforce Postal Service and District of Colombia
House Committee on Government Reform
Senate Subcommittee on Federal Financial Management
Government Information services and International Security
Postal Subcommittee of the House Government Reform and Oversight Committee

Whew, who ever knew it took that much bureaucracy to simply bring a letter or package from point A to point B. It's a good thing they don't do anything complicated, like say healthcare or national defense! Can you imagine the list under one of those programs? Is it a wonder why the Post Office operates in the red with all those hands in the pie? Remember every one of those listed has a staff of employees. Incredible!

A Lesson From The Past!

There was a day when politicians from either party upheld the constitution. In 1887, Congress passed a bill giving money to suffering farmers in Texas who were victim of a drought. Today this would have been rubber stamped and the check would be in the mail. Here's how Grover Cleveland,(A democrat), handled entitlements....

" I feel obliged to withhold my approval of the plan, as proposed by this bill, to indulge a benevolent and charitable sentiment through the appropriation of funds for that purpose. I can find no warrant for such an appropriation in the constitution, and I do not believe that the power and the duty of the General Government ought to be extended to the relief of individual suffering, which is in no manner properly related to the public service or benefit. A prevalent tendency to disregard, the limited mission of this power and duty should, I think, be steadfastly resisted to the end that the lesson should be constantly enforced that, though the people support the Government, the Government should not support the people."

Man, could our Government take a lesson from that paragraph! He goes on to tell us how this problem should be properly handled by our nation!

"The friendliness and charity of our countrymen can always be relied upon to relieve their fellow citizen in misfortune. This has been repeated and quite lately demonstrated. Federal aid in such cases encourages the expectation of paternal care on the part of the Government and weaken the sturdiness of our national character; while it prevents the indulgence among our people of that kindly sentiment and conduct which strengthens the bonds of a common brotherhood."

President Grover Cleveland was absolutely correct on all fronts. Not only did he defend the Constitution but he correctly predicted Americans would respond in kind. They donated ten times the money allocated by Congress for the aid of the stricken farmers.

Isn't it interesting that before the Democratic party was infected by the socialist agenda cloaked by secular progressive's influencing the party's policies, they had America's best interests in mind? I propose we move to a five party system so voters have an accurate idea who they are voting for. On the right we have the "Conservative Constitutionalists" , then as we move more to the center the "Republicans" as we know them now. The "Independents" would cover the middle, with a slight shift to the left awarded to the "Democrats", then the far left socialist agenda would be unveiled as the "Secular Progressive" party. I submit this will help voters understand where their candidate lies policy wise. Too many of us vote along party lines and then say,"Whoa, this isn't what I had in mind." Democrats of today are hijacked by a socialist agenda and don't represent the party of yesteryear. Republicans are in the mix too. In an effort to attract voters they've moved to the center abandoning their conservative values trying to woo independents. The Conservative values are compromised for votes. The five party system allows for the candidate to state his policies and helps voters decide what they are getting for their vote.

Back to the point! President Cleveland had it right! That was how America was designed to work. I was impressed with a politician that had a backbone and stood for his policies. I thought I'd share, so we can look for this type of leadership in the future!

You Can't Always Get What You Want???

The Rolling Stones sang a song titled "You can't always get what you want", and I've found myself that you don't often get what you deserve, but you do usually get what you envision. Most of the less than desirable results you have in life are because of the limits you've put upon yourself. Statements like "I could never do that because," (insert excuse here) define the ceilings we've put on ourselves. Best selling author Orrin Woodward defines them as "limiting beliefs".

Limiting beliefs apply to our lives in everything we do, school, sports, relationships, jobs, and income. Author Jim Collins in his book "Good to Great", points out we have a terrible habit of accepting good instead of holding out for the desired great. He also notes that the greatest enemy of great is imposing our limiting beliefs and accepting good. We settle! Why? Because it's comfortable, conflict free, and we've convinced ourselves we can be happy there.

Nothing exceptional has ever been accomplished without facing conflict and pushing through. Sports championships are never won with mediocre performances, Achieving excellence requires that you cast aside limiting beliefs, and drive for greatness. No one ever reached the top accepting second place. Success in life REQUIRES that you push yourself outside your comfort zone and never, ever be satisfied with good. We have a limited and precious amount of time here on this earth, is it wise to accept the status quo, or should we make the most of it?

Here's my point. We can all make a difference. Nothing says we have to accept what we don't believe is right. I'll use the problems in Washington as an example. There are serious issues at hand in DC, but we don't have to lie down for them. We've already made a difference. Envision the way our founders saw this Republic and let's drive for that goal, that's the great. They would never accept the taxation we are paying. The fraud in Washington would have led to duels, yet America accepts it as the norm. Our forefathers had no limiting beliefs. They didn't risk their lives so we become a nanny state, they fought for freedom. Every time we accept a tax or legislation that limits our freedom, we settle or accept an assault on the Republic they bequeathed us. Keep speaking out America, it's how our country was designed, so we may have a voice. We can make a difference!

Here's the challenge for today. Examine your relationships, finances, government, etc, see what you can define as good or settled for, then let's remove our limiting beliefs and strive for great!

Dire Straits

England's economy is in dire straits, (some of you will get that on the way home), apparently their national debt is rising at a rate of 6000 pounds per second, about $9816.00 US. They have a population of approximately 60 million people about 1/5 of the United States. Per capita they actually are worse off then we are financially. To the point where many of their conservative politicians are very concerned their economy is going to collapse. Wanna know why? Anybody want to bet me it's not their participation in the war in Iraq?

It's not! England has become a nanny state with cradle to grave entitlements, led by....Health care for all. People debate where it actually falls but the state run health care system in England is either the 3rd or the 5th largest employer in the world. Most of that is administration (Government). They are behind China's Red Army, India's rail transportation system (Both have populations exceeding a billion), America's armed forces, Wal-mart, then the 1.3 million people employed by England for health care. Please note there a very few doctors and nurses on this payroll as they are in short supply there. Nope, all this is bureaucracy. Government paid employees meant to oversee and distribute this entitlement. Does this set off any alarms with you?

Bring on Monday!

Sometimes when you feel your going
Would leave an unfillable hole;
Just follow this simple instruction,
And see how it humbles your soul.

Take a bucket and fill it with water,
Put your hand in it up to the wrist;
Pull it out and the hole that's remaining,
Is a measure of how you'll be missed.

You may splash all you please when you enter,
You can stir up the water galore;
But stop and you'll find in a minute;
That it looks the same as before

The moral is this quaint example
Is to do the best that you can
Be proud of yourself, but remember
There is no indespensible man!

A great message to start the week. We are our best when we serve others. Mark Twain said, "The best way to cheer yourself up is to cheer everybody else up!" Face Monday with a smile, people will wonder what your up to!

Take Heed Excuse Makers!

This week former President Jimmy Carter and comedian/scholar Bill Cosby decided to express their ignorance and profess that people who disagree with President Obama's agenda are race motivated. I refer them to possibly the greatest statement on that subject reprinted below. The speaker is one of the most intelligent people of our time, and proves it with these words. (Please note race nor gender were used to describe this scholar)

I feel certain that we have taught you to call prejudice and bigotry by name and to challenge it in our institutional structures... But have we equipped you to deal with bigotry in your daily lives? Do you understand that prejudice is not an impenetrable force field that cannot be overcome? The will to succeed may be your most potent weapon against the prejudice that is still deeply ingrained in the fabric of our country and world.

Prejudice and bigotry are brought down...by the sheer force of determination of individuals to succeed and the refusal of a human being to let prejudice define the parameters of the possible.

If your first reaction to failure is, prejudice is to blame- if your first thought when you or another minority succeed is that race or gender or a physical disability must have been the patron-if when someone disagrees with you or stands in your way, you immediately suspect that person to be a bigot...bigotry and prejudice are winning because their mere existence has begun to define your success, your failures, and your relationships to others. You have become part of the pernicious dismissal of individual will. You are sanctioning the belittlement of the efforts of generations of nameless minorities- woman who have scrubbed floors to send children to college, men who were spat upon but kept their dignity- people who suffered and sacrificed so that step by step, victory by victory, the walls of prejudice would be brought down, and one and then two and then many minorities could pass through and achieve.

Condoleezza Rice

Powerful words from an intelligent powerful person. Take a hint purveyors of the racial excuse. My prayer is this will be memorized and a code to live by.

Release the Hounds!

Washington has an addiction problem. Not unlike a crack head needing a fix they want us to believe that if we throw more gas on the fire it's going to go out! Just give us 800 billion more and we'll stop the fraud and abuse in the medicare/medicaid system. It's time for an intervention. Make them go cold turkey America! Giving a drug addict more drugs doesn't help his addiction, an addict will also do everything in their power to convince you they need it. Sounds like a few politicians we know huh?

They's love to have you believe the cure to fraud and abuse is more government. When in fact it's the very nursery for fraud and abuse! Yielding power to unqualified leaders is the root cause of abuse. Ponder this, If your morally bankrupt, how do you insist that the decisions your going to make will be ethical? Those who oversee are never as learned as those who do. Believe me it pays much better to be a financial guru than to be head of the government oversight committee. So why would you be the regulator if you had the knowledge to be the financial guru? It's not the retirement program! I submit it's the lack of knowledge that keeps them in the government sector. Example: Bernie Madoff overseen by Tim Geithner. Had the market not corrected Madoff would still be running that scam, unbeknownst to Geithner, and he's currently in charge of the Treasury. Those who can, do...Those who can't supervise.

So when Washington calls for more Government (oversight), don't be an en-abler. Just say no! The fox has been watching the hen house for far too long. Limit government and limit abuse. It's bad enough we have to pay these people to commit treason and not uphold the Constitution, let's not let them usurp their authority and line their pockets and those special interest groups that support them.

No Nonsense Healthcare Proposal!

Yesterday Washington released the long awaited Max Baucus written health care plan. It was suppose to be a bi-partisan effort to introduce Universal Healthcare Reform. I'm afraid the only bi-partisan result is it has upset both sides of the isle. The nicest thing I can find to say about this bill is it's less than 250 pages, at least they're doing their part to save some trees. Well, except the idea needs to be thrown in the trash. My prayer is it can all be recycled into toilet paper so it can serve a worthy purpose.

Elected officials just don't get it! Maybe it due to the fact most of them are career politicians, and have no actual business experience. Corporations don't pay taxes! While they might sign the check you receive, the actual revenue generated is added to the price of the product or service and passed on to the consumer. So anytime you tax, fine, or levy the corporations, businesses, etc. the consumer is taxed. This third party taxation seems to appease lawmakers because we don't directly pay it to them, or they just think we are ignorant. So Mr. Baucus, when you tax any health care premium you are in fact taxing us. Isn't that raising the cost of health care? Wasn't the goal here to make health care affordable to all?

Capital Hill is using healthcare as a fund raiser. The reforms don't have to cost money. Eliminate fraud, we are already paying people to oversee this, both inside the programs and in the legal field. Demand they do their jobs, that doesn't cost a dime! Do we need to send film students in to go undercover to expose medicaid and medicare fraud? They did a wonderful job exposing ACORN at a total out of pocket expense of $1300.00. That was going on right under your noses for years, but they saw a need and got to work. Let's turn them loose on health care fraud!

Open up inter-state insurance commerce, no funding needed there. Promoting competition across state lines will do wonders for pricing! Can anyone in Washington tell me why this hasn't been done? Just one reason.

Here's the beauty, also cost free. Tort reform, limit awards and hold accountable frivolous law suits. This was done in Texas and California and they've seen a 40% drop in insurance premiums. Get out of the lawyer's pockets and do your jobs!

There is no need to look at other countries healthcare models. Ours is just needs a little fine tuning. But you couldn't use it as a fund raiser then could you? I've just written a healthcare proposal that anyone can vote for, it'll save an incredible amount of money, and I still have 249 pages worth of trees not used. Those green people have to be on board with that!

Wait, I forgot a couple of issues, every bill has amendments. Insist healthcare providers eliminate pre-existing conditions and demand that everyone is eligible for insurance. Caps on coverage are now a no-no, and policies are transferable from job to job. Deductables and out of pocket expenses are to be kept in check, maybe the State Insurance Commisioner could pitch in here. Lastly no one can be dropped from insurance coverage for reasons other than non-payment.

Done, sign it and let's move on!
God Bless

All Hands on Deck!

I'm not sure I know where to begin today but here goes...

President Obama promised transparency in his administration and for some issues it's coming to fruition. ACORN's ugly agenda is becoming exposed. Not due to any effort by legislators but thanks to Americans that have just plain had enough. Time after time accusations have been hurled at the left wing group but capital hill has managed to side step investigating them. Now after two brave young activists exposed them, they have to act. Public outrage demanded they get off their pompous butts and rebuke this organization. Even yet seven politicians refused to vote to cut off funding for this organization that promoted brothels, child abuse and sexual exploitation, and smuggling illegal immigrants for enslavement. Congress leaps at the chance to investigate steroid use in the National Baseball League, and calls for an investigation into the New England Patriot football team's alleged cheating practices, yet nary a probe into ACORN for years. Could the money and campaign support they receive from ACORN be a distraction? There has never been a better time for the phrase, "A time for change." Remember when you head to the ballot box the day they wasted while the country had important issues to deal with, debating the need to publicly reprimand a senator who shouted out during the President's address to congress after he had already apologized, not once, but twice. I can't help but wonder how much that little side show cost us taxpayers! I'm finding it incredible they chose rapid response to this issue but Charlie Rangel's tax fraud remains uninvestigated even after Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi promised this would be complete by January.

The highlight is, we are making a difference. This is the way our system is suppose to work. It's just a little slow for me. Politicians dragging their feet creates larger problems. Outrage has removed a communist from the White House, but there is more work to do. Remain vocal! We need to be informed to reform the system. Apathy and ignorance has allowed a faction in our government that does not have our best interests in mind. Two elected officials have openly stated what they do has little to do with the constitution, despite swearing to defend it at their inauguration. Openly defying the job description they swore to before God and our nation. To all in the fight, keep up the outstanding work. For the people on the side lines, time to get into the game! We need all hands on deck!

Something for US!

Every once in a while we have to step back and work on ourselves. I found this great piece called The Art of Getting Along......

Sooner or later, a man, if he is wise discovers life is a mixture of good days and bad, victory and defeat, give and take. He learns that it doesn't pay to be too sensitive a soul, that he should let some things go over his head like water off a duck's back. He learns that he who loses his temper usually loses out, that all men have burnt toast for breakfast now and then, and that he shouldn't take the other fellow's grouch too seriously.

He learns that carrying a chip on his shoulder is the easiest way to get into trouble, the quickest way to become unpopular is to carry tales of gossip about others, that passing the buck always turns into a boomerang, and that it doesn't matter who gets the credit so long as the job gets done.

He learns that most others are as ambitious as he, that they have brains as good or better, that hard work, not cleverness is the secret to success. He learns no man ever gets to first base alone, and that only through cooperative effort that we move on to better things.

Thought for the day........................

Blessed are those who laugh at themselves! They shall never cease to be amused!

EXTRA! EXTRA! Read All About IT!

I'm sure you remember my disdain for the lame-stream media, er main stream. This week an incredible feat of journalism has been accomplished, independent of any news service. Quite the act of patriotism these two young citizens have accomplished. Not UPI, API, CBS, NBCN, ABC, MSNBC, CNN, but two 20 something year olds have uncovered and exposed the corruption at ACORN. James O'Keefe and Hanna Giles went undercover and recorded ACORN employees in 3 offices in separate cities helping them to secure a loan to open a brothel which included underage illegal aliens. Not the FBI, the CIA, Congress, the House of Representatives subcommittees, The New York Times, The Washington Post or any of the overseeing entities despite the constant allegations of fraud and abuse have been capable of the results these two young patriots have achieved. Insiders have surfaced crying foul about ACORN yet still the media refused to take a look. The result of the investigation to date has caused the US Census bureau to part ties with the corrupt organization. Be mindful ACORN receives millions and perhaps billions of government funding, yet still the main stream media had to be schooled in the art of journalism by amateurs.

Thank God for these two young activists! They are truly patriots and leaders. I'm so excited to see the next generation taking the lead! What a sad state of affairs for the rest of the media. The left wing wack jobs we entrusted to keep us informed have yet again dropped the ball. Please use your power of purchase and avoid supporting these slackers. My channel is now turned to Fox News, nothing they can offer me elsewhere has the scope nor both sides of the opinion. The propaganda fed to us by the rest is inexcusable. I refuse to spend hard earned money on a newspaper that spins the news or coincidently overlooks stories that sheds doubt on the left.

We almost let ACORN have an impact on the census, as they were poised to do the ground work. We've already been victims of voter fraud perpetrated by them, and financed by our tax dollars. This is a great example how apathy can lead to the destruction of our Republic as we know it. The left and it's support groups like ACORN want nothing less than to turn our country into a socialist nanny state with cradle to grave entitlements. How long can we ignore this assault on our freedom?

Just Some Musings!

First thing I have to give atta boys to the University of Charleston football team for their 35 to zippo rout of West Virginia State, yesterday.

On the trip I had the occasion to finish a great book, The Coming Aristocracy, by Oliver DeMille. It's a must read for everyone. A fantastic overview of where our country is and what we can do to get back on track. The author is the founder of George Wythe University and relays a powerful message for members of any political persuasion. It's short, sweet and to the point. Put it on top of your list of things to do.

Yesterday the Associated Press reported on the 9/12 project march on the Capitol. Tens of thousands of fed up Americans showed up to make their voices heard. I can't remember since the 60's protests of the war in Vietnam this type of dissent levied at our representatives. America is angry! The news service tried to dismiss the story with comments like "Many protesters said they paid their own way." Inferring the effort was financed by special interests. They also commented in the story I read that " many protesters signs depicted Obama with Hitler like mustaches ", but the five pictures that accompanied the expose' didn't reflect any of those images. The report just reeked of liberal bias and a disdain for the whole affair.

I've had a little time to reflect about the people I know who are of the liberal or radical belief and I've noticed several similarities. Most are employed by the government, involved in education (especially higher education), recipients of the system, news or entertainment employees, involved in the union, or uber-wealthy. Most of that group benefits from government programs. Salaries for the government employees depend on "Big" government. Education is overseen by the government, and grants from the government fund higher education research projects. News organizations thrive on the daily activities of Washington and most of them aspire to have careers as government advisors etc. The union is in bed with Capitol hill promoting their own brand of special interests, Lower income individuals rely on government programs to survive and the Uber-wealthy seek to control the government. All in all they seek bigger government so they can have a bigger piece of they pie, all selfish motives. What I don't see is a love for our country and the patriotism to do what's in her best interests. It's all about them and what can government do for me, polar opposite of JFK's ask not what your country can do for you speech.

Your average Joe blue collar worker who pays taxes and eeks out a living usually leans to the conservative or independent side. I found it interesting that when taxes consume a third of your disposable income how you tend to become fiscally conservative. Conservatives seek fiscal responsibility and solvency. What any responsible individual would want for friends and family, or a lack of selfishness. Values based on hard work and innovation (capitalism?).They realize you need to dig your well before your thirsty, not rely on the government spigot. The liberal group categorizes that as greed, from my perspective it's responsibility. I've yet to meet a liberal who gives it all away as they expect everyone else to do. In fact they are usually the first in the handout line, be it a grant for research or food stamps, it's just another form of government welfare to me. Conservative use the capitalist's approach, use profits for research and development.

Why Grandpa?

Have you ever thought about explaining where our country is and how we got here to your grandchildren? Really, when I think about it, at their age, I had to go to a phone, it wasn't in my pocket. Homework required a trip to the library or a set of encyclopedias, not surfing the net for the needed info. Music came from a transistor radio, eight track, or an LP. I'm comfortable sitting around a holographic simulated campfire, (To reduce carbon footprint), explaining all those innovations and how they influenced our lives, but I'm not comfortable answering this.....

Grandpa, what was the country like before socialism? You know when it was a free market republic. How did our economy bankrupt itself and a world currency come to be? What was it like to be truly free before they implanted the microchips in our money and on us? Was it fun to own a gun and go target practice and hunting? Were you ever sued by a deer? Was it fun to drive where you wanted, when you wanted, before government transportation was mandated? What's religion? Before the government controlled our electricity and our fuel purchases could you be comfortable in your home? Did you get an allowance when you were my age from your parents like the government gives us now? Grandpa, what was it like to be free?

I reply, "Those are all great questions son. The answer is simple, we took that all for granted. Now Grandpa has to run to the eco-friendly government transportation for his appointment to review his health care account and how much more treatment I'm entitled to."

Please go to You Tube and search for the 11 part series entitled Freedom to Fascism, by the late Aaron Russo. He was the producer of the movies Trading Places, Wise Guys, and The Rose. This is an incredible, informative documentary and needs to be seen by all. Each clip is about 10 mins long so you can break it up into segments. Please invest the time to watch this and be informed!

I'm sure I don't have to remind anyone today is the anniversary of that historical day America was attacked and changed forever. Please take a moment and joint me in a prayer to remember the families of those who gave their lives, and for the preservation of freedom in our God fearing country. "LET'S ROLL!"

Health Scare

Let me pose a question to everyone who humbles me by reading this blog. Who do you think wrote the health care bills proposed in Washington? I had to sit back and think about that one. After much deliberation I realized no elected official on the hill had the know how to produce the 1000 pages of legal jargon disguised as HR 3200, which would explain why no one can explain the contents. Here's who introduced this behemoth....
July 14,2009
Mr. DINGELL (for himself, Mr. RANGEL, Mr. WAXMAN, Mr. GEORGE MILLER of California, Mr. STARK, Mr. PALLONE, and Mr. ANDREWS) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Energy and Commerce, and in addition to the Committees on Ways and Means, Education and Labor, Oversight

I've heard these men speak, they're not qualified. I challenge one of them to explain in detail the bill they authored. Better yet, just give me an intelligent overview. I propose they're taking credit for someone else's work. That begs the question....Who? Well a great way to address this question is to find out who benefits from this legislation, or as my new friend Art Jonak says, "Follow the money." That job used to be handled by the media. That's the industry that's begging Washington for handouts because no one will buy their newspapers or watch their version of the evening news. Maybe people would rely on you if you actually investigated? Just a thought...

So lets look at the players and what they have to gain.

Doctors;. No big win for them here. They are already underpaid, overworked, and slaughtered by malpractice insurance premiums. They'd face a larger work load and I just don't see an upside for them.

Hospitals; Not so much. Relieves the emergency room pressure, and nonpayment issues but forced to accept lower payment for services. Not a lick of relief for malpractice, their biggest overhead.

Lawyers; Without tort reform they will see an upswing in legal claims. So I can see them promoting this agenda.

Pharmaceutical Companies: They made their deal already. Sacrificed some profit and funded ad campaigns for support of this legislation to avoid the flow of cheaper drugs into the US from other countries. They are in bed with this but not a high pressure player.

Unions: Well 50/50 for them. Government insurance cripples one of their entitlements to members. Why would one need a union to negotiate health benefits if they are provided by Uncle Sam? Upside, providing for members may get less expensive. They are in bed, but just to fill the tank for other agenda issues.

John Q Public; Not by a long shot. Your taxes are going to fund this entitlement. Most of America has health coverage, and most of us are happy with it. We will be handed the bill. The best healthcare system in the world might be ruined. JQP is not a big fan!

State Government; Medicare and medicaid has just about sunk every state budget. Now the proposal is for the states to handle more of the medicare/medicaid burden. As you can imagine not very popular with any fiscally responsible state governor.

Washington DC; Here's one of your culprits. They usurped the power granted them in the Constitution by creating these entitlement programs . Politicians are challenging the sovereignty of our nation financially. This will give them a whole new pool of money to misappropriate not unlike they did with the excess Social Security funds. How to fund programs without raising taxes? Dip into the slush fund. They are deeper into your pocket under the guise of medical security.

Secular Progressive Left Wingers; Bingo! Another entitlement to pander for votes from the uninformed and system abusers. Also there are time bombs buried in the bill set to go off and limit your freedom at a later date, enhancing government control at your expense. I'm here to propose they've assembled a network that includes a think tank to author legislation, outside capitol hill, to further the agenda. Does anyone believe Charlie Rangel is capable of this type of legalese? He can't even properly report income after 3 revisions. What we have are puppets, controlled by special interests, and funded by left wing radicals to do their bidding.

I encourage you to go to Utube and watch Freedom to Fascism by Aaron Russo. It's broken into parts but it's a must see video.

The Art of Communication!

One down, more to go. With the resignation of Van Jones from his czarship, we have to move on to the next questionable advisor who has the president's ear. Mark Lloyd, FCC diversity czar. It's hard to focus on exactly where to bring the fight as the advisors are just so out there, but this one deserves immediate attention. His claim to fame is to violate the first amendment, that pesky little insert that insures the right to free speech.

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

Like I'm doing here. Now I'm not sure where the need for a "Diversity Czar" came into play but apparently now we have one. Talk about a place to cut the budget! I'm thinking his job description is to create a level playing field for minorities to own or have use of the airways. His agenda speaks to a different calling. Let's meet this player!

Lloyd is far more than merely a communications attorney. He was at one time a Senior Fellow at the uber-liberal Center for American Progress. You might remember them as the radical left wing think tank that insists we live in a socialist country. This guy praises Hugo Chavez's takeover of the media in Venezuela. And his plan is to set out rules, content rules for diversity and fairness on the air -- and if a radio station fails to meet those rules, they must pay a fine of 100% of their operating budget that year. Well, that puts you out of business. If you have to pay a fine equal to 100% of your operating budget it puts you out of business. the fine money would then go to The Corporation for Public Broadcasting, go to NPR. Because they are adjudged to be fair because they are public radio. This guy has been very open and honest about what he wants to do. He's written a book, he's written articles about it and he's made speeches about it. Or to put it plainly, a new tactic to implement the "Fairness Doctrine"

A short history on the "Fairness Doctrine." It was designed to ensure balance on the airwaves,if a conservative got airtime, opposing views received equal airtime. Bottom line is they are trying to find a way to have the unpopular liberal viewpoint heard. It was tried with the introduction of "Air America" the liberal version of talk radio, but it appears it wasn't popular for the advertisers as liberals are always looking for the government to pay for everything, keeping their money in their pockets. Government already sponsors NPR, National Public Radio,(Sounds kind of communistic doesn't it?), already in violation of the first amendment in my mind. They conceal the public financial support for liberal media from taxes as an endowment for the arts. Here's a thought, make your programming entertaining, then it'll be profitable!

Media is in trouble, Internet and content is their bane, not equal time or diversity. No one want to pay for a newspaper or support sponsors of a radio or TV program that is boring and unpopular. Where is the investigative reporting? Pssst, it's on the Internet and on conservative TV/ talk radio. Journalists have decided to become lazy and reprint spoon fed news releases. The last thing they investigated was the buffet at the White House Press briefing. Find the story you'll find the readers/listeners!

How does Lloyd fit into this? His dream is to control content on the airwaves. A key to a socialist agenda. They are undermining our liberty and attempting to control our media. The same outcry needs to be applied here as America did to Van Jones, the Green Job Czar. He answers only to the President, for now. Considering all the questionable decisions this administration has already made in it's short term, isn't it time we took back Washington?

God Bless
Capt. Bill
P.S. Wanna bet you don't hear about this guy on mainstream media?

We Are Winning!

Sorry gang I was a little delayed this morning having the wonderful opportunity to spend time with TV host and MLM celebrity Art Jonak. We covered a gambit of topics from politics to MLM systems. What an insightful and well informed guy! I was truly blessed to share some ideas and learn from a success minded individual.

One great point Art shared was his perspective as an immigrant who escaped oppression, fled to this country, and how important it is to keep your finger on the pulse of government. The similarities between the tyranny he escaped and the direction America is taking is strikingly similar. A positive he highlighted is how the corruption and the backroom politics we are experiencing have collateral damage for the current administration and it's agenda. We have begun to become a more informed nation in a very short period of time. Art encourages us all to learn and speak out against everything we see wrong in Washington to correct straying from the path of a free society.

I have to highlight a victory for freedom. Van Jones, (The former green jobs czar), has resigned. His alignment with the communist party, the 9/11 truthers, and racist political rants have caught up with him. Our outcry of disapproval was heard and answered. Now we must cry yet again against the other threats to our freedom, both personnel and policy wise. Our voices carry weight. We cannot be fooled by Washington's shell game deceptions, nor have short term memory loss. Stay informed and speak out!

Satisfy Your Moral Obligation!

I'm going to let this one marinate over the holiday weekend. I feel strongly there are some points here everyone needs to consider and many are away from their computers this weekend. More on Tuesday! Have a happy holiday!

This is the health care lobby's latest attempt to move forward this travesty of legislation, and infringement on our rights disguised as health care reform:

Fill in the blank_________________ thinks that no one should die because they cannot afford health care, and no one should go broke because they get sick. We are the only western nation that does not treat healthcare as a fundamental human right rather than a privilege. This is a moral issue, not a political one. If you agree, please post this as your status for the rest of the day. (to be posted on Face book and Twitter)

Now this is wrong on so many fronts. First of all...When did we all become sheep incapable of forming our own opinions? I'm not now nor ever will be spoon fed my input on any issue. Especially by special interest groups in Washington.

While I agree no one should die for lack of health care, does anyone you know who has come to mind? Physicians have taken the Hippocratic oath, vowing to care for all who need them, without restitution. Could this misrepresentation be construed as a scare tactic or perhaps a tug on your sympathy? It's a non-issue in the United States of America.

"We are the only western nation that does not treat healthcare as a fundamental right rather than a privilege." Oh this is going to be a long one.... First of all we are also the only western nation that's a republic and a free market society. The most successful and longest standing form of government, bar none. What we are doing has worked for over 200 years, no other nation can say that. Yet you feel the need to mess with that by introducing socialized health care. No need to reinvent the wheel. If I'm ill I want to be right here, no one leaves our healthcare to go to those other countries for treatment. There is a reason, our healthcare is fine. Insurance, fraud, waste, and unnecessary law suits are the problem. Not a peep about addressing those. Now to the absurdity of that statement I refer you to your mother. I'm sure you also heard while growing up, "If everyone jumped off a bridge would you follow?" Healthcare is not defined as a right in our country, if you find other country's policies more attractive, move. I'll not have my moral obligation dictated to me by any government, that's the mantra of a fascist regime. You'll not turn my country into a socialist government because the insurance industry needs reform. Now they are using the media to tell you how to think. Isn't that a page out of the communist manifesto? Don't be a sheep, think for yourself.

This is an assault on our intelligence and our freedom. There is no healthcare issue, it's an insurance problem, a fraud and waste problem, manifested by an out of control legal system. Special interests are pushing this agenda. Why don't we look into the real cause? As my fifth grade teacher was fond of saying,"Do your homework people!"

Now let's address this moral issue. I urge you to solve your moral obligation to health care by following my lead. I write a check to:

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital home page Contact Us: ... Donations (800) 822-6344. Volunteer event fundraising (800) 457-2444 ...www.stjude.org

OR

Shriners Hospitals for Children - Official Web site of Shriners ...
Select a Hospital. Boston. Canada. Chicago. Cincinnati. Erie ... Burn Awareness. Shriners Hospitals for Children is a one-of-a-kind international health care ...
www.shrinershq.org/Hospitals/Main

This way we know our money is going to a deserving cause and right to the need. No government involvement to dip into the kitty for administration purposes. Fast, effective, moral solving, health care to those in need. Problem solved! There are other deserving charities as well. I think the above programs do a wonderful job, and it doesn't threaten my freedom a bit to support them, and my moral obligation is complete. Follow those links to fulfill yourself!

Washington is asking us to give up some of our freedom for security. It sounds attractive but is polar opposite to what our country was founded upon. If we are to be independent as defined by our founding fathers, we cannot be dependent upon government. This is a state by state issue, to be addressed locally, not by federal mandate. Why you ask? So there is a place to go after these ideas collapse like they are destined to do in the states that have tried them. Every state with a government insurance entitlement is in financial ruin. The programs are failures, plagued by red ink and improper care of the people they were trying to be morally responsible to.

The bottom line is... They are trying to sell ice cubes to Eskimos! We are insured and well cared for. Charity is for the non profits, not the government. Flood ST. Jude's and the Shriners' with cash so they can branch out and provide for more of the needy and deserving. Our health care is just fine. It's the insurance, and legal issues that need addressing. Washington, focus on the root of the problem, not the collateral damage.

The Color of Character

My last couple of posts ventured into the ignorance of racism. I broached this subject for a reason. Like other issues brought to light here, it's going to become an problem in America. I wanted to be sure we all understood when the race card is played it's usually to distract us from the facts. Whenever politicians can't accomplish their agenda they look to assign blame. That alone is a sign of a lack of character. When they play the race card, it's a sign of ignorance. Martin Luther King once dreamed that all men would be judged by the content of their character, not the color of their skin. To achieve that goal America has to quit seeing things in brown, yellow, black, and white. Promoting the race card is a sure sign the promoter is in fact a racist. To even get to that level of thinking you have to label people by color in your mind, or you'd never consider it an issue. It's as absurd as saying a task couldn't be accomplished because they had brown eyes or red hair. Unlike the color of skin excuse, you never hear those used, because they are insane.

To that point you might remember Van Jones, our green jobs advisor. He does have a label, it's communist, by his own admission. He's also fond of saying the white man is responsible for polluting America, spraying poison on farm workers, causing 9/11, and other racial remarks. His ire for humanity is drawing a great deal of attention as a member of the president's advisory board. The country is calling for his resignation after his verbal ignorance has been brought to light. Should that come to fruition, and I believe it's inevitable, chances are pretty good it'll be the white mans fault too. At this time I'd like to point out to Van, that unless his speech writer was caucasian, and someone else signed him up for those communist and radical groups, and a ventriloquist put those words in his mouth, he himself is responsible.

This administration is going to fall apart. Many will look to assign blame. The easy cop out is the race card. The Governor of New York is about to be ousted, he's playing the race card and warning President Obama he's going to be the next victim. Elected officials are claiming America wants Obama to fail because of the color of his skin. This ugly abuse of racism is demeaning to the people who were actual victims of it. I'll label it for what it is...A lack of character and accountability. That's the card to be played here.

Color Blind

I'd like to elaborate on yesterday's topic. It's important to understand as long as we see things through a colored lense racism will never go away. Painting every topic with a white, brown, red, yellow, or black brush just complicates the issue. While we are all responsible, the media is a strong promoter of the race card. In an effort to describe people, skin color is generally the adjective they use. Politicians are also big time offenders. They seek sympathy votes by appealing to a class of people defined by skin color. It's not uncommon to hear them pander to an ethnic group. The ignorance of defining people by race is a major setback for the United States.

A Congresswoman from California was recently all over the news for saying during a town hall meeting that there were people who wanted the President to fail because he looked like her. Now since Obama isn't a woman, we have to assume she was referring to the color of her skin. How is that productive? It's a classic example of the victim mentality. People oppose the President because of his agenda, it has nothing to do with his skin color. Yet it's easier to play the victim and blame oppression of a race rather than faulty policy. How does that type of ignorance get elected to a position of leadership? When leaders promote ignorance the pack isn't far behind.

That's just one example in a slew of many. Nations embroiled in war and poverty is where this type of ignorance flourish. World powers have moved beyond racism. Why do we still embrace it? Because it's an excuse for those who fail. Assign blame to others, and your guilt free for doing a shoddy job, or committing a crime. Playing the race card promotes the lack of accountability, it's childish. Every American is responsible, just by letting ignorant racist statements stand unchallenged. It's our job to hold them accountable. Question those statements with boldness. Ask why they pass accountability off to skin color. Confronting ignorance is the first step to overcoming it. Most important send leaders who see things through colored lenses to the unemployment line, it's where victims belong.

Color My World!

This is one of the touchiest topics in the United States today. It's only taboo because there is little done to over come it. I hear a bunch of chatter, but no action, and everyone's guilty. Discrimination is where most men fear to tread. The classification of someone by their ethnic background. You might note I didn't say color of their skin, discrimination isn't limited to color, in fact it's still gender oriented too. Back in the 60's the woman's movement was as vocal as any ethnic group. "You've come a long way baby" isn't just a slogan it's a fact! Women took a stand and refused to be labeled "victims."

A great deal of the problem is labeling. While it's wonderful to be proud of your ethnic background it's not an excuse. We are all citizens of the greatest country in the world, something to be mighty proud of! We're past the point of ignorantly labeling and classifying people. You see that in the Middle East where religious sects are used to describe a countryman. Your a Sunni or a Shia not an Afgan. You don't see British people or Frenchmen labeled as anything but French or British! When was the last time you heard Afro-Canadian, or a Mexican-Canadian? It's not an issue there, they've moved past labels, and united to become one people. It's not a coincidence backward civilizations classify or label their citizens, so we need to stop. Isn't it time we all just became American?

Another step to stomp out discrimination is to over come stereotypes. As a Irish, Scottish, German descendant I've had to work hard to overcome those issues. I try to suppress my German blood by not being overbearing and demanding. I quit drinking and maintain a job so I won't be labeled as an lazy, drunk Irishman, and I'm not overly frugal to downplay my Scottish genes. Now doesn't that all sound silly? Rightfully so, because it is! Again it's the use of ignorance and we've grown past that as a nation. No one is typical, we are all individuals. Should you find yourself being stereo-typical, then stop! Why promote ignorance then complain about it? Everything I described about the stereotypes of my nationalities are all character flaws. It's in your own best interest to not accept them as true, or promote them as acceptable

Here is the final key. The victim mentality... If your a victim in this country it's by your own choosing. America is the land of opportunity. People die trying to flee other countries to come here to have those options. How dare we take them for granted! We should be a country of the "hand up" not the "hand out" mantra. Blind men climb mountains here, club footed men win Olympic medals, foreigners build financial dynasties, but still people blame their lack of success for the color of their skin or their gender. They are excuses, and as long as you accept excuses, you'll have one!

We are the greatest, most powerful country in the world. It's because we are diverse, not in spite of it! It's time to be proud to be American first, and put your heritage second. Don't hand me excuses, show me a solution. Don't complain about your situation, move to improve it. Let's move past this race ignorance and unite for the good of the country. Racism is a self inflicted wound when you use it as an excuse. Your in the situation your in because of the level of thinking you have, and we can always improve that. It's everyone's problem, own up!
