"Ubi Caritas Est Vera, Deus Ibi Est!

"Ubi caritas est vera, Deus ibi est!

Translation..."Where true charity is, there is God."

This is how God intended the poor to be cared for. Today in church, a representative of the Guadalupe mission spoke about their needs. The the collection plate was passed for donations to help alleviate their strife. I'm happy to say their needs were met with great generosity and without a government official in sight. One hundred percent of that money went directly to the cause, and none to administration. Those souls are also taught how to raise them selves out of poverty, and hand up rather than a hand out. This is how we help our fellow man.

It's easy to become complacent and ignore other's needs because the government makes it so simple. Just let us collect your hard earned dollars in the form of taxation, and we'll redistribute that money after we take our cut, and you can consider your obligation to be your brother's keeper handled. Nice try! The Congressional Budget Office has openly confessed that less than 30% of every government redistributed dollar goes directly to the cause. 70% of our financial efforts to solve problems is wasted in bureaucracy. This is not how we show our Creator we are good stewards of His blessings.

Just think of the charitable good this nation could do if the government lived within it's means and only collected the taxes required to maintain a minimal status. I believe that was what our founders had envisioned when they formed our nation, and we made it all the way to 1913 until we bashed that design by creating a federal taxing authority through the 16th Amendment. We would do well to note at this point that the Latin phrase above says Where true charity is, GOD, (not the government), is present. Is there any wonder why those in power try to impose a secular pose? The truth is charitable contributions in the name of God takes money out of their hands. No money, no power...... No kidding!

It's Time To Fix The Roof!

Once upon a time there was this great building. The owners of this structure were very proud of it's majestic line the way it improved the atmosphere of the neighborhood. But troubled times fell upon the keepers of this grand centerpiece of the neighborhood, and it fell into a state of disrepair. Just when it seemed nothing could get worse a huge storm befell the building and the roof was seriously damaged. The inhabitants knew this was trouble, but continued their day to day activities choosing to work around the hazards mindful that someday they would like this pillar of the city to be restored.

Then one day there came un unsolicited knock on the door. It was a young man with great ambition and a plan to restore the building to a bigger and better example of prosperity in the neighborhood. This fellow was a roofer, and filled the owners with grand ideas of hope and change. The owners were excited as was the rest of the neighborhood, and they turned out in grand numbers to watch the process. The roofer sensed their excitement and played the crowd as he secured the owners a credit voucher to fix the damaged roof, and pulled the permit. The owners were quite enamored with the process and the city even went so far as to award the roofer accolades for neighborhood improvement, and a key to the city. It was a grand spectacle, despite the roofers critics who quickly pointed out the roofer hadn't ever actually installed a roof before.

Well, time dragged on and little was accomplished to repair the damaged roof. The lawn was trimmed and some of the garbage around the property was picked up, but nary a shingle was laid. The roofer claimed great roadblocks and insisted upon yet more credit be secured so he might finish the job. The leaky structure continued to fall into disrepair, and more rooms were damaged by the water coming in despite the roofer's claim that the property looked much better with the lawn trimmed and the garbage picked up. The inhabitants were growing restless, as none of the promises made were fulfilled, and even more damage was done to the grand structure. The place hardly resembled the example of greatness that once stood on the lot. More depression set in,

Our roofer has now gone into defense mode. He's telling the owners that had he not come along the structure would have fallen completely down and those leaks aren't as bad as they were when he first solicited the job. The permit is about to expire and he wants the owners to pull a new one, so he can fulfill his original promise. He also needs yet more of the owners money to complete the job as the roof had way more leaks than he anticipated. In fact he wants to increase his weekly draw as the owners aren't doing their fair share to sustain the project.

Understandably the owners are a bit skeptical, as nothing has been accomplished to fix the original problem of a leaky roof, the permit has expired, and more money is needed to complete a job that has not even been focused upon by the roofer. In fact the roofer spends more time playing golf than he does addressing the structure's problems. The roofer now claims that the foundation that has supported the structure is improperly designed, contrary to the evidence it has supported this grand building since it's inception. The owners are dismayed at the incompetence of the roofer, and the barrage of excuses for a job not even started yet. The structure is worse off than when the roofer appeared with his exuberant ideas of hope and change.

Now would you hire this roofer? Would you allow this individual to continue to restore your prize possession? I'd like to see some shingles, plywood, peel and stick, and nails myself. You see this model doesn't work in real life, and it sure doesn't work in Washington. The man is an unaccomplished deception artist, who preys on fools. It's time for the ruse to stop! Our nation has an unmatched foundation that will weather any storm as long as it's not compromised. We certainly need a new roof, one that's of the original design, and economically installed. We need doers not talkers. We need a new contractor!

Polling Women!

Another indicator that America is being manipulated in this Presidential Election is the polling on the female vote. Now anyone who claims to be an expert on women is a fool, but there is one outstanding trait that most all women share, that few can deny. They abhor being lied to! They can sniff out a phony from a block away. If I may expand on this through example.....

Suppose while on a trip, you told your wife or significant other that you'd call her at 10 PM. Now being a male and easily distracted you neglected to make that call until ten thirty. Here's the problem you've created.

1) You lied to her. Not keeping your word has set off a chain reaction, which includes and is not limited to...

2) Worry! In that half hour time frame millions of scenarios have raced through your loved one's brain. They ranged from you've been in an accident to your having an affair. None of these thoughts were positive as somehow you choose to.....

3) Betray her trust! She counted on you to keep her informed and worry free. She is now reevaluating your relationship because you've...

4) Been selfish and self centered! You weren't thinking of her when you ignored the predetermined time frame in which to converse. This will lead to a breakdown in your relationship and your complete understanding of what a life of eternity in hell would be like. All self inflicted, because, as we know, women don't tolerate lying!

Now I say all that to bring us to this point. How does a serial liar like our President stand an ice cube's chance in hell with the female vote? Logic demands that any male who's misled, and announced unkept promises like our President isn't going to find favor with the female demographic. So I propose that this poll is false and misleading. Just one more reason this President cannot possibly find favor with a majority of women voters, or non-voters for that matter. We are being played!

Social Justice!

As the election looms nearer, we will be bombarded to the point of annoyance with media blitzes designed to influence our votes. The more I see these, the more I understand that truth is not their passion, persuasion is. There are few means that some of the candidates won't use to attain power. We see through the rhetoric that the design is to influence the passion of the crowd, rather than to appeal to intelligence and common sense. I wonder if this loss of virtue is as telling to others?

Those who have yet to decide who to vote for should take stock in the direction they would like to see this country led. The answer to an intelligent voter's questions should come through dialog; dialog between the candidates. How we vote should be through a direct result of knowledge attained by the application of due diligence, not slanderous advertisements. An informed voter is a powerful electorate, an uninformed voter is a tool of the establishment. With all that said, the debates will, and should be, the factor that decides the vote of those on the fence.

Ignorance is a tool of the devil, and those who abuse the ignorant are doing his bidding. It's our responsibility to call out those who attempt to deceive for the evil that they are. We talk constantly about social justice and fairness in this day and age, but are we being just when leadership resorts to deception to attain power? That's a question I'd like answered in the debates!

All Hands On Deck!!!

We have a failed administration in Washington. The American people know it on both sides of the aisle, and it's apparent because failed administrations don't have to make excuses. Nothing is more glaring than when leadership is absent, and despite the media's best spin, we the people can see what's apparent.

"To commit to do something that you have no capacity to do is either dangerous or stupid!"

We get a laundry list of goals from all politicians, but I've yet to hear from one something as arrogant as claiming his election would cause the earth to heal and the rise of the oceans will begin to slow. How about we just pass a budget? Or maybe let's get a little crazy and pass a balanced budget? God will handle the planet, the President needs to stick to what he can control. There were claims to reduce the deficit to half of what it was when he took office, that would be a wonderful start. It might even begin to heal Washington, and better yet, our country.

"Acquiring competence enables one to be genuine!"

Now here is one we totally missed. The man had no accomplishments when we elected him! People who have actual results don't need to boast. Only a poser makes unfounded statements about their ability to perform tasks without the attributes to achieve the goals. To lead you must have the knowledge, skills, and abilities to exemplify a posture of accomplishment. People do not voluntarily follow or reelect one who is disingenuous. America is wise to the ruse going on in the White House.

You see they can try to mislead us with polls, polls that are designed to portray the results in a skewed manner, but I'm certain we as Americans are not that dim. We know polls serve no purpose but to sway the voter to the popular opinion. A million people can back something that's totally wrong, it'll never be right! It's impossible to hide incompetence in a position of leadership, and it's been over exposed. We need competence in Washington in every position. The ship is going down and it's time for some skilled leadership to take the helm. America is up to it's knees in bilge water and realizes drilling holes in the hull to let it out is the wrong approach. It's time for change !

Higher Learning?

I had an interesting confrontation the other day with a young man, who apparently was led to some misinformation regarding history. Despite my best efforts to lead him to the truth, the gentleman chose to become angry and irrational, closing his mind to the truth because it countered what he had been taught. This is the result of indoctrination, our children are being exposed to propaganda rather than the truth, and it's coming from our own learning institutions.

Not only is this a sad state of affairs, but it's not the only problem. Colleges have raised the cost of indoctrination over the last four years twenty percent for private institutions, and twenty five percent for state run universities. Not only are our young adults being misled, they are being fleeced financially! Here's the best part...What they've been told to protest about is the potential increase in financial aid interest rates from 3.8% to 6.8%, not the 20% to 25% in enrollment costs. This is the financial wisdom of the higher learning institution attendee.

The Universities indiscriminately raise their rates, then point the finger at the lenders. If you point this out to the college student, they will revert you to the argument about financial aid cost, as if tuition has no bearing on what they are responsible to pay back. I can't help but worry that these are the next generation of leaders, those who will be operating this great nation in my senior years.

What's being taught in colleges is that debt is okay as long as the interest is palatable. It's sad that our youth are being indoctrinated on what to think, without regard of how to think. Where is the inquisitive, inquiring mind that questions information? When does common sense come into play? Then those same intellectuals have the gaul to dispute what is obviously true because it doesn't fit inside the box the university erected inside their brain. There is no thinking, only repetition of memorization.

Men Wanted!

Popular American culture has long put forward a vision of rugged masculinity. Just look back on history! It reminds us that our ancestors were conquerors, adventure seekers, and physical specimens of toughness. The revolutionary, the cowboy, and all the way to the astronaut who strapped himself to the top of a rocket built by the lowest bidder, our society was built on macho. We were pioneers in innovation and creativity, inspired by a vision of masculine domination of our domain. Those great heroes were not conformed to this world, they were only limited by the parameters of what the mind could conceive!

Somehow those same ruddy individuals got convinced to trade the posture of "The Duke" for a more sensitive feminine pose. Absent are the role models for young men who domineered their domain, traded for the manicured "metro sexual" model. They traded games like "King of the Hill" for events where score isn't kept for fear their fragile egos might be impacted. Personally, this doesn't fit definition of living in God's image, and our youth is being impacted in a negative light.

Then God said," Let us make man in our image, after our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish in the sea, and over the birds in the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth." Genesis 1:26

It's hard to have dominion over anything when your carrying a purse and are afraid to ruin your manicure. We are called by God to do work for humanity. We are designed to work hard for what is good and holy. This will at times require males to lift up their skirt and kick off those high heels and exert his dominion "over every creeping thing that creeps." There is no room for the squeamish, the faint of heart, or those with a feminine posture. It will require a man who grabs the bull by the horns and addresses problems with the posture of a warrior of God. The Lord blessed us with this earth to keep it, and keep it we must. We have a custodial duty that includes raising other men, as men. God has provided us with an abundant supply of women, so there is no need to intrude on their femininity. If God had intended men to act like women, why did he create us with different attributes? There is a line of demarcation, and it's there for good reason.

Finally, live your purpose. Don't try to be something your not designed to be. Men don't need to assume the role of women. There are so many other challenges in this great world to conquer. Why not live your purpose?

"Bagdad Bob" Reports From Washington!

I'll bet you remember the scene on the television news when the Marines were landing during the Iraq invasion, where "Bagdad Bob" was reporting live from the scene to the Iraq people. Despite the Marines crossing back and forth in the television picture screen behind him, he was defiantly reporting his propaganda to the listeners reassuring them that the nation of Iraq was still firmly under control of the Iraq government and the Iraq forces were repelling the American forces.

History repeats itself! Now, today, we are witnessing the very same denial in the upcoming election. The media is reporting that our failed President is destined for reelection and our country is in recovery. My experience is this is going to be a landslide. It's at least 10 to 1 in favor of Mitt Romney with everyone I talk to. There are people who don't have a political bone in their body, and have been apathetic about voting in previous elections, who have simply had it with this nonsense and are finally going to vote. They want our country back, and they want it back now.

The challenges America was facing four years ago have been nothing but compounded. Not only has this administration failed, it's lied about it at every turn. Frankly, the American people I have contact with are "mad as hell, and they are not going to take it anymore!" It's the overwhelming opinion, and we're not buying the media hype trying to tell us otherwise. You cannot tell people everything is wonderful while the wheels have come off the bus and are lying on the ground in front of them. "Bagdad Bob had more credibility!

Discuss this with your friends and those you encounter. They need to know they are not alone. I'll bet you find that more people than not share your concerns, so help them understand what a ruse this really is. And when you meet that rare individual who thinks everything is just fine, walk away, quickly. There is no way to bring them back to reality, and you certainly don't want to risk the chance of contracting whatever mind altering virus that has inflicted them.

Why Secular?

Every now and then I ponder an issue just to see if possess any value. During this deep reflection I came upon this topic. What does secularism add to society?

Great question I told myself! Does it add any monetary value? Nope. Does it contribute to the moral fiber of the people? Nope. Does it help bring the family together? Nope. Does it have intellectual value? Nope. Does it inspire individuals to do random acts of charitable good? Nope. Does it contribute to our freedom?

I guess this is the debate, because it's the only issue I couldn't find a negative to. Secularism is yet another choice, albeit a choice that adds no value to society. You see there are people who demand the option to deny others expression of their values and faith so they may claim the right to make a choice. It's a choice between living a value filled life, verses not. They simply want the option open to deny others their right to express freedom of religion as guaranteed by the First Amendment, where it clearly states that "Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof."

I don't see where that assures secularism. Secularism isn't a religion, it's a lack of one. It's not even implied! There is a reason for this, secularism already exists. You have to go out of your way to not be secular, and praise something. Moving away from secularism adds value to those who do it's life. Why would you want to deny them the ability to do that? The founders didn't specifically protect secularism because it added no value! It is the introduction of faith that improves lives.

The only other point to this argument I could fathom is the excuse secularist use to deny religion. They will be quick to point out religion causes wars and violence. Nice try. It's people who cause wars and violence, religion could never cause such an event, it's has no physical substance. It's simply a belief, man is empowered by this belief and chooses to do right or wrong. Wars and violence are caused by man, and at time his abuse of religion. Just like pencils don't cause bad spelling, religion doesn't cause violence. That responsibility would rest solely on the shoulders of mankind.

Let Your Light Shine!

I often wonder if we all realize just how important it is that we need to change the culture in the United States? The decline of civilization hangs in the balance! The good news is this is easily reversed! It's simply a matter of understanding where you are now is not all there is. We have to be cognizant of the idea that we can be transformed by the renewal of the mind, at any time of our choosing. We do not have to conform to the decline of society, but can act out by reminding ourselves what is good, acceptable, and honorable.

You see our mind is already undergoing a transformation. We are bombarded with media daily that leads us in one direction or another. How about we take charge of the input we are influenced by? A day never passes without a reminder that credibility is a lost art, and the push toward a secular society, free of the binds of morality, is what is cool and trendy.

Wouldn't it be a hoot is we turned the tables on them? How about we demand credibility, and influence society through our actions? What if we, "Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your father in heaven."- (Matt 5:16), and that became the model of society?

It's simply a matter of knowledge. The counter culture uses ignorance as their tool. They engage in debates with unarmed, well meaning, representatives of what is good, and slaughter them with preparation. We all need to be capable of defending what we believe and why we believe it. We have to understand the tactics of the secular credentialist and use knowledge to rebuke them. You'll find when they are engaged they have little in the way of substance, because they have nothing to stand on. It's all a matter of being better informed. To that end, it's our responsibility to seek out the information and use the knowledge. Drink deeply of good books, be the example to others, and learn to defend what you know to be true. This is how we win back the culture.

Final thought, we have them on the ropes. Now is not the time to let up! Society is fed up with the status quo and knows in it's heart we need a change. Be that agent of change!

God Bless!

The Whole Truth!

Have you ever wondered why there are members of our society who work feverishly to make the Bible irrelevant? One of the first issues that sticks out is that the Bible says for us to honor our contracts and pay our bills on time. Wouldn't that be a novel idea in Washington? It kind of speaks volumes to where the idea of separation of church and state arose from!

If a vow is not faithfully honored then how can that person ever be trusted? How can one ever believe another who does not keep their promised word? Keeping promises speaks to the character of the individual. Integrity, honor, self respect, and honesty means everything to mankind and the Lord. Anyone who diverts from the whole truth is a misleader. An individual's word is all one truly has. Why would anyone compromise their only true possession?

Power is an evil master. We have daily examples of how men and women sell their souls to achieve a position of power. Some to the point of criminal activity! Who's agenda do those individual's serve? Are they looking our for you, or is their other concerns on their minds? If a person is willing to compromise the truth to gain a position of power, what else would they compromise to keep it?

The truth has no agenda, it simply is. Demand our leaders in Washington, the church, cities, and states protect the truth. We also bear a responsibility to demand the truth, because what we are willing to accept, will never change!

God Bless!

Overpowering Monday!

A couple of quick tidbits to help you conquer the Monday morning blues...

No one else will believe in you until you believe in yourself!

Make your mind work for you, rather than against you!

Others see in us what we see in ourselves! (Watch your self image)

He who believes he is worth little, receives little.

Belief is the thermostat that regulates what we accomplish in life!

Disbelief is a negative power, When the mind doubts it attracts reasons to support the lack of belief and the subconscious will sabotage your success.

Those who believe they can move mountains do.

Belief in success is the single most important ingredient of successful people!

"Offer It Up!"

Holy cow, there is so much I have on my mind today, it's going to be difficult to keep this post on track! The world is in unrest, our government is assigning blame for attacks on freedom of speech rather than accepting responsibility for not being prepared for an anniversary attack on 9/11. Our debt has reached a new unconscionable plateau as our nation's poor has risen to a level of prosperity that exceeds 85% of every other worldwide citizen, and we borrowed the money to achieve that. This is just an iota of the turmoil that faces us daily. Which brings me to my point!

As I sat in church today I was reminded of a lesson that the good Sister's of Saint Patrick's Catholic School imbedded in my sub-conscience. Every time there was any hint of discomfort in my life, this mantra was aimed at my complaints. It's a universal cure-all that no one in their right mind would attempt to argue with, so my response when it was applied was a humble, "Yes Sister!" You see these words of wisdom demand you accept responsibility without complaint for whatever situation God has placed in your life. If it was too hot, or it was too cold, if rain fell on my parade, or I was buried with homework that evening; the answer was the same.

"Offer it up!"

It's really hard to complain about whatever is inconveniencing you at that space in time, when you compare it to the sacrifice Jesus made for us. Those little sacrifices pale in comparison and put my whining immediately into perspective. So in the words of every Nun who has empowered me with this wisdom, when your challenges seem to be overwhelming....

"Offer it up!"

God Bless!

Don't Be Played!

The saga in the Middle East goes on, and we at home are challenged to weed through the hype and political banter and blame assigning. It's important that when we are confronted with these types of incidents, that we only allow ourselves to react to what we know to be true. The media and others, like to play on the public emotions by suggesting things that are either false, or partially true. This creates not only an emotional reaction, but a rumor mill that actually gives the misinformation credibility. When we allow others to play on our emotions like this, we become just exactly like those in the Middle East who were ginned up enough to act irrationally. So, in light of that, it's important to only repeat and react to what we know is true...

1) An act of violence occurred, there was a loss of life, American life.

2) It happened on a day when our country remembers the tragedy of 9/11.

Beyond this we don't really know what is true. It's hard to weed through the rest of the information. Was it the result of some video that disparaged Mohammed? We don't know that. Until the individuals who murdered our people are caught and held accountable for their actions, it's simply speculation. Don't be played by suggestive speculation! This is how people are used to overreact. As horrible as this act of violence is, we don't know all the facts yet. And since we don't have a complete picture, it would be irrational to form an opinion, other than this was a senseless act of violence.

So don't give the media nor the political influences the power to control your reaction. Now is merely the time to pray for the families of those we lost, and do our due diligence in a search for the facts. We need credible information prior to forming an opinion, not wild rumors and speculation!

God Bless!

The Power Of Ignorance!

Does the unrest in the Middle East bother anyone else, or is it just me? I'm not sure what exactly aggravates me, is it that the whole show seems to be by design, or just the lack of emotional maturity still prevalent in one of the oldest societies known to man?

That region has been in constant turmoil since the dawn of man. Muhammad died in 639 AD. America wasn't even a glimmer in Columbus' eye, in fact Columbus, nor his parents weren't even a glimmer in anyone's eye back then. Yet they still found reasons to cause civil unrest. I'm all but certain Americans, or any cheesy You Tube video had little or nothing to do with this demonstration of violence. It simply stems from ignorance and a lack of emotional maturity.

The region is fraught with ignorance. We don't need to fight a war on terror, we simply need to teach these people a set of values, including the value of a human life. Until then we can expect them to treat each other, and us, with total disregard. Someone can easily stir the pot by simply playing on their emotions. Since they have no value system to filter behavior, they act irrationally. Why isn't that issue addressed? Because it serves a purpose. A political purpose!

Those that lead the people of this region find it easier to deal with ignorance. The only way an ignorant man can respond to something that they disagree with is violence. So you simply impose tyranny on the ignorant and back it up with a strong army. No need for debate, no need for intelligent discourse, just rule by the point of a gun so you control the emotionally immature. It's an advanced form of babysitting. No one can intellectually challenge their rule, because they don't have the means. The only threat a regime faces to their tyranny is violence. Therefore any faction in power only needs to maintain a large force than it's opposition. They will never have to face the consequences of a decision and defend it with reason. They simply impose their will by force.

The population being left ignorant has no defense against this tyranny but to act out. They throw a tantrum. A huge violent tantrum might get attention, or it could be crushed by those in power as we've seen so many times. How does this play out in the recent violence?

Those who wanted to make a statement during our remembrance of the 9/11 terrorist attacks have been all but neutered. The only way they could remind us that they still can threaten us is to call into the attention the crude video that was not complimentary to Muhammad. They then ginned up the ignorant, and pointed their ire toward the only symbol of Americanism available, the Consulate. Law enforcement stepped aside and allowed ignorance to shine. Now they've perpetuated an attack on the United States and reminded us that their terrorist agenda is far but over. The only way to win this war is to educate the ignorant. Until then they will continue to be convinced it's spiritual to strap a bomb on the back of one of God's magnificent creations and harm others. Until then others will be able to rile the ignorant into a huge tantrum that ends in a loss of life. Until then we better get use to this because it's how terrorism thrives.

God Bless!

Excuses Or Results?

In a world where society suffers from an epidemic of rationalizations, justifications, and excuses, there is one principle that looms with exceptional clarity. It's virtually impossible for an individual of any character to offer you an excuse for a lack of accomplishment, when they are acutely aware that you have faced larger struggles than they have without muttering a word of complaint, or offering the world an excuse.

Be The Example!

Excuses don't move you forward. The challenges God has placed in your life are there for a purpose. Trading the lesson for an excuse offered is sidestepping that learning opportunity, and trapping you at the level of accomplishment your currently at. No growth can occur when you ask for things to be easier, via an excuse, rather than asking God for the ability to master the challenge.

Don't Hand The Champion Within You Excuses!

Let that animal of achievement that lies dormant within, out! Don't try to tame it by believing your own lies created to appease the loser that's trying to overcome your winning spirit! You can master the challenge! Should you fall short, simply review the results and strive to understand where the improvement can be applied. Then you've become a winner!

Who Told You That?

Last night I was reminded about where I got my financial wisdom. I can remember as a youth that everyone I knew envisioned people of wealth as "lucky." They were born into a family who had wealth, or had won the lottery, maybe they were lucky enough to settle a lawsuit, or better yet they had been left a big inheritance. This was the mind set of my friends and family. Not once was it brought up that those "lucky" individuals had achieved their success through hard work. That wasn't a consideration, and do you know why? Because everyone I knew was already working hard, and wealth hadn't found them!

You see I had been born into an environment where no one understood success, or wealth, principles. They had been sold the bill of goods that if you got good grades, then went to work for a big corporation, you'd be set for life. No one told them that same corporation that "took care of them for life," would define their lifestyle for that very same life. They ceded their financial freedom for a "secure" job! Does anyone know of an individual that enjoys the definition of wealth that was earned from working from a corporation? While it maybe possible to earn a handsome salary from a corporation, you'll never enjoy the time needed to appreciate all the benefits of wealth.

Does anyone else smell a rat? Who do you think started the false rumor that staying in school, getting good grades, and going to work for a corporation was the American dream? Care to wager it was those same corporations?

America was founded on the entrepreneurial spirit. There were no corporations when the pilgrims landed. They didn't exist when the Constitution was written. They are a invention of the industrial age. A creation that prospered in the twentieth century, and stole the American dream of prosperity by offering a safe, secure job with benefits. We traded security for freedom, financial freedom. And in the words of Ben Franklin....

" Those Who Sacrifice Liberty For Security Deserve Neither!"

How those words ring true today!

Respect Life!

9/11 today we remember the innocent victims of a vicious attack driven by disciples of an evil extremist. How else does one describe a cowardly act of pure evil, but as the work of Satan himself? There is no justification to take the life of anyone, especially those who have nothing to do with the cause of the hate driven violence.

I doubt you'll find many who disagree with what I've written above. Those fools that do will find their place beside the evil one for all eternity. But do we apply the same standard to the rest of our lives? We see the horror in the acts of 9/11, where innocent victims were slaughtered without regard for life, yet innocent life is erased everyday in a somewhat socially acceptable act in abortion clinics though out our land. Where is the outrage for that cowardly act? Where is the sympathy for those victims? Where is the grieving for those families who've been deprived of their young ones? We need to apply the same standards.

Everyone who has been impacted by the 9/11 tragedy, and that's all of us that were alive to see it, understands the value of life and the horror when it's needlessly erased. We recognize those we lost as victims. Nothing replaces the loss of a loved one, or any life for that matter. Life is precious, and 9/11 if nothing else should have taught our whole nation that. We need to carry that same standard forward and stop the slaughter of innocent, unsuspecting victims everywhere, born and unborn. Allow the lesson of 9/11 to be learned and not repeated, day after day.

God Bless!

Thinking Forward!

I've noticed that a great deal of our youth has been caught up in the progressive movement. This is a dangerous combination of an acute lack of information, a complete misleading of the impressionable, and a passion to rebel. I'm afraid those in the progressive movement haven't really thought through their positions, and taken a look forward into the future.

Let's suppose that down the road these progressive promoters are blessed with a child. That child happens to be a beautiful baby girl, who grows up to be not only a beautiful young woman, but their parents pride and joy. The always nerve racking day arrives when this apple of their eye begins the dating process. How progressive are these future parents going to be when a young man in a van arrives at the front door with a pack of condoms hanging out of his back pocket?

Now it's easy to be a liberal rebel when your young and impressionable. But as we "season" and take on responsibilities, our values shift. Do you think those parents wish they had impressed upon their daughter the values of the conservative side of the fence? Where the ends don't justify the means, and you have a set of Commandments on which to rest your life altering decisions upon? Where living in the moment and giving into immediate gratification isn't a way of life? Birth control is taught in the form of abstention, and the thought of taking another's life, even in the womb is unthinkable?

Our values are a gift we bequeath to our children. There are absolutely times when it's great to be liberal. I'm always liberal when I grease a front end, or give to charity. I'm conservative when it comes to my values, and I view everything through a lens that reflects and clarifies those values. I teach my boys that women are to be respected, and that in the moment decisions have lasting consequences. Those consequences bring responsibilities. I teach them that a family unit is a man and a woman, joined in matrimony, and that children are the blessing of living those values. And that a dad is an on scene part of those responsibilities, not an absentee voter. This is how a parent finds comfort in those first dating moments. When a young man seeking their daughter's attention is living those values, as is their daughter. Not the irresponsibility of the liberal, progressive agenda.

The Battle For Your Mind!

The battle for our minds is being waged on a day to day basis. Unfortunately the victims of this campaign have become casualties without any clue of defeat. Well meaning, good, and honest people have been conned into believing they are well informed, when in fact they are being indoctrinated by false or misleading information. News sources spoon feed what appears to be credible reporting to it's unsuspecting victims, and it is being wrongly consumed as valid fact. The truth is they are merely regurgitating material that lacks valid research. Case in point. CNN Money reported that there are "tons" of jobs in the trucking industry merely awaiting applicants, inferring that these 200,000 job opportunities are a partial solution to the unemployment dilemma. On the surface this looks credible to the uninformed linear thinking reader.

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/tons-of-trucking-jobs-----that-nobody-wants.html

BUT!

These are not new jobs, they are simply replacing drivers that have exited a high turn over industry. Some have failed drug tests, some have blemished their driving records to the point they are uninsurable, some find the high demands of the job too much for family life, and others just make any number of bad decisions that lead to unemployment. The industry is not expanding and hiring "new" workers. For every "new" hire there is another on the unemployment line. The companies they cite seeking drivers are not expanding, they aren't purchasing new rigs for new markets, they are simply filling previously held vacant spots. This does not affect unemployment, it merely shuffles the employed with the seeking.

An unsuspecting reader would rightly wonder why these jobs are going unfilled in these times of troubled employment. Truth be told these jobs exist in good and bad times, it's a revolving door. But then if you accepted this writer's input as fact, you could arrive at an opinion not grounded in reality, because the evidence isn't properly submitted. This is why we must question boldly all the information at our fingertips. Seek more than one source, and validate what your being led to believe. This is how we win the war of flawed conclusions!

"Laus Deo"

Atop the massive monument to George Washington in Washington D.C., there is an aluminum cap which bears the inscription "Laus Deo," which means "praise be to God." While this engraving isn't viewable to those who visit the Washington Monument, there is a replica where you can see these words reproduced. Occasionally the secular division of our society manages to inadvertently turn this replica so that this tribute to our Creator isn't visible.

http://www.snopes.com/politics/religion/lausdeo.asp

Inside this national monument is inscribed yet another religious reference that causes controversy in the secular community. It's often referred to as "Washington's Prayer", but in an effort to prove old George didn't have a religious bone in his body, the "prayer" is said to be taken from a letter written by Washington, so it's not actually a prayer. Here is the text.

"I now make it my earnest prayer, that God would have you, and the State over which you preside, in his holy protection, that he would incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government, to entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another, for their fellow Citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the Field, and finally, that he would most graciously be pleased to dispose us all, to do Justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility and pacific temper of mind, which were the Characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed Religion, and without an humble imitation of whose example in these things, we can never hope to be a happy Nation."

Now I don't know about you, but anything that begins with "now I make it my earnest prayer," leads me to believe that this was in fact a prayer. Be that as it may, this non-prayer makes reference to "God," a "Divine Author," and "our blessed religion," all of which could lead one to believe that old George was in fact a religious man, despite the best efforts of those that would have us believe otherwise. Is this the language of a non-believer?

The secular movement is always trying to change history to fit their narrative. They can't continue with their hedonistic behavior if we are a country grounded in faith. The easiest way to battle our resolve is to plant seeds of doubt and fertilize them with propaganda, but you see they don't understand this will never work. The very definition of faithful debunks the premise that'll ever work. The faithful certainly understand the ways of the "Great Deceiver," and will never fall for those tactics. Carry on!

Your Backside Is Exposed!

Yesterday we pointed out the democrat platform had removed any reference to God. Low and behold that very same day someone in the part realized it was going to cost them votes, and the reinstated God into their platform. Some of you may have witnessed the vote to amend the paperwork, it was very telling. The delegates in favor did not carry the 2/3 majority required to make the change, yet the party passed the amendment anyway. You can change the words, but you cannot change the feelings. Let me present evidence that this motion was not taken well.

Palm Beach Co. Democratic Party Chairman Alan Siegel, who is Jewish, had this to say to a reporter at the convention about Christianity. He said, "Christians want Jews to be slaughtered and converted to bring on the second coming of Jesus Christ."

This is the ignorance of the democrat party exposed. He is a man who's faith also believes in God, making absurd statements about fellow believers. Nothing to support this claim, he's simply exposing his hatred toward his fellow man. This is the individual who Palm Beach County democrats decided was best suited to represent them in public. It's simply one bad decision after another. These are the choices a political party makes that help us decide how and what to vote for. It's very telling!

Hedonism and Politics!

The democrat party has taken yet another step toward hedonism, as they have decided to remove any reference to their Creator from their mission statement, (platform). What sane individual denies giving the glory to God? Just two things come to mind as I watch the total destruction of the party of our grandparents.

"Bad company ruins good morals"- 1 Corinthians 15:33 and

"The companion of fools will suffer harm."-Proverbs 13:20

I don't know about you, but I am totally aware of who butters my bread. All the glory goes to God our Father and total gratitude to my Savior Jesus Christ.

I heard reference to the fact they had used faith several times in the platform. This excuse comes from someone who just doesn't understand. Faith can be misguided. You can have faith in government, but government had little to do with your existence. The removal of God from the platform is just a little nudge closer in attempting to replace our Creator with their government. They are telling us we don't need to look to God for salvation, the government has the tools to supply you with all your needs. Tithe in the form of taxation to the electorate, and they will provide. John warned us about such individuals in his Second Letter.

"For many deceivers have gone out into the world, men who will not acknowledge the coming of Jesus Christ in the flesh; such a one is a deceiver and the anti-christ.-The Second Letter of John 4:7

Has there ever been a more compelling reason to get out and vote? If your not happy with the selection of candidates, write in your preferred choice. This absurd degradation of our society has got to come to an end. The democrats have chosen to pursue personal pleasure and the avoidance of the pain of responsibility. They have no respect for life, and are attempting to replace the worship and glory due our Creator with the ascension of government. Be loud people, make yourselves vocal in calling out this blaspheme. This is not only in direct contradiction of our founders mission statement it's an attack on God. We don't just have to protect our God given rights anymore, now we have to protect the worship of our Father in heaven.

"If you turn to Him with all your heart and with all your soul, to do what is true before Him, then He will turn to you and not hide His face from you."- Tobit 13:6

Life!

Sometimes it's hard to face the Tuesday after a Monday holiday! Nothing like a little inspirational poetry to kick the day off......

Life

By Anna Lætitia Barbauld 1743–1825 Anna Laetitia Barbauld

Animula, vagula, blandula.

Life! I know not what thou art,

But know that thou and I must part;

And when, or how, or where we met,

I own to me’s a secret yet.

But this I know, when thou art fled,

Where’er they lay these limbs, this head,

No clod so valueless shall be,

As all that then remains of me.

O whither, whither dost thou fly,

Where bend unseen thy trackless course,

And in this strange divorce,

Ah tell where I must seek this compound I?

To the vast ocean of empyreal flame,

From whence thy essence came,

Dost thou thy flight pursue, when freed

From matter’s base encumbering weed?

Or dost thou, hid from sight,

Wait, like some spell-bound knight,

Through blank oblivious years th’ appointed hour,

To break thy trance and reassume thy power?

Yet canst thou without thought or feeling be?

O say what art thou, when no more thou ’rt thee?

Life! we’ve been long together,

Through pleasant and through cloudy weather;

’Tis hard to part when friends are dear;

Perhaps ’t will cost a sigh, a tear;

Then steal away, give little warning,

Choose thine own time;

Say not Good night, but in some brighter clime

Bid me Good morning.

Voter ID Fraud Solved!

So, we have an issue. People in this country want to insure the purity of the voting process. The Courts, on the other hand, want to insure the integrity of the registration system so it doesn't exclude anyone, accidentally or on purpose. Apparently they've struck down Texas' attempt to stop people not eligible to vote via a voter photo ID law, the issue being the added distress it'll apply to economically depressed voters. It seems the courts feel that it's an unprecedented burden to ask someone to produce identification. I know that 99% understand this is absolutely absurd, but the courts have spoken! Not to worry I have though my way through a solution.

Install and equip each and every polling place with a photo ID facility and provide this service at no charge to each and every voter during the voting process. If you cannot produce valid proof you are who you say you are, a mandatory fingerprinting on the spot is required. You must also present a piece of mail addressed to you at your current address. This way with a picture, an address, and a finger print officials can locate and prosecute anyone committing voter fraud. Then you can vote on a provisional ballot. We must seek out and prosecute to the fullest extent of the law anyone who attempts to defraud this system, so the penalties must outweigh the risk. Anyone voting on a absentee ballot will be provided a home finger print kit, mandating the mail in ballot only be accepted with the voter's fingerprint clearly imbedded on the ballot.

This process not only allows every individual to vote and be counted, but gives law enforcement officials a complete profile on potential abuse of the system. No one is compromised but the criminal. While this might seem costly and time consuming, it virtually eliminates fraud. It also encourages voters to simply produce picture ID, and allows to register new voters on the spot! You can register and vote on that very same day you decide to participate in the process. It's a win/win proposal. I'm certain the courts will see this as a strike for voter freedom and as a protector of the sanctity of the right to vote that it is!

Marshmallows And Success!

The art of delayed gratification is one of the disciplines of success! There was an experiment done similar to the posted video showing the torture children experience when learning this principle; they examined those same children and reviewed their achievements years later. Those who held out and didn't eat the marshmallow had by far exceeded the level of success of those that chose the path of immediate gratification.

You have to love the reaction of theses little darlings! I recently saw another video where a young lady ate the inside of the marshmallow out, leaving it to appear untouched. The gentleman narrating explained to the audience he was certain based on the previous experiment this young girl would achieve success, but she would absolutely have to be watched.

The General of the Confederate Army, Robert E. Lee, was a man of honor and integrity, and he is known as one of the greatest leaders in all of American history. He had a particular abhorrence of selfishness that found its foundation in following his Master, Jesus Christ. After the Civil War when a mother asked him what would be the greatest instruction she could give her infant son, his reply was, “Madam, teach him to deny himself.”

The video depicts this is easier said than done. You have to love the facial expressions exhibiting the mental torture involved while these youngsters wrestle with their decisions. We want to do the right thing, otherwise those kids would just gobble down the tasty morsel. This is an epic example of how tempting it is to take the path of least resistance and by default deny ourselves a greater reward, effectively trading the later great for the current good. It's important to remember, those little darling are just smaller versions of us, and those marshmallows could be any shiny object that distracts us from greatness!

Ifs,Ands, and Buts

When dealing with people it's important to get your if's, ands, and buts correct. We were recently treated to an incredible teaching talk produced by Orrin Woodward where he brought this concept to light. I think the highlight of this talk was where Orrin shared the replacement of and for but. Let me explain.

Often times when we edify an individual, especially if we have our people skills in line, we begin the interaction with our praise. What we admire about how the person has performed flows easily from the lips, but (note this use of the word but is part of the teaching moment Orrin shared as you'll see a little further down in the article), as we are human we often times de-edify in the same sentence. The culprit is the word but. Example...

"That was an outstanding catch under very difficult coverage, but had you run outside, you would have avoided the linebacker that stopped you from gaining additional yardage."

Up until the first comma, this sentence was an example of the mastery of people skills, then we ruined it. Had we reworded the rest of the sentence with just a tad of tweaking, the constructive criticism would have been accepted, rather than taken as a scolding. Example...

" That was an outstanding catch under difficult coverage, and you always seem to do incredible things against outstanding defenses. I can see your ready to become an impact player in our offense! Would you be open to a suggestion that will clearly bring your game to the next level?"

You asked and will likely receive permission from that player to now apply constructive criticism. Instead of that player walking away from your conversation with an attitude of, "I can never do anything to please them, here I make a great catch and all they can do is complain." You've praised the action that was worthy and inspired that person to want to achieve more. All that was required was to remove the word but, then replace it with and. What an incredibly simple concept that's destined to increase your effectiveness as a leader! This attention to detail is why Orrin Woodward has achieved the level of leadership effectiveness he has. What a blessing to be a student of his!
