Part Of The Process!

"Equality of positions will perhaps inevitably be the enemy of glory, better at reducing misery than creating public splendor, more apt to give everyone some education than to throw off tremendous flashes of genius; but for many, these will be acceptable trades." -Alan Ryan

Curiously those words are penned in the introduction of "Democracy In America" an overview of the American experiment, written by a Frenchman in the early 1800's. Although Alan Ryan's words of wisdom were written in the 20th century, it rings a warning that foretells of a impending doom rearing it's head here in the early 21st century.

Leveling the playing field and attempting to achieve parody for all, is a path to mediocrity. Anyone who has achieved any level of success can testify that the process is, dream, struggle, victory. Without a struggle, there can be no victory. Victory is defined by overcoming. If you have no obstacle to defeat, how can you define your achievement? Participation is not a victory, it's merely a matter of attendance.

When we are fraught with struggle, we will do well to remind ourselves it's part of the process. In fact it's the last step prior to victory. So if your deep in the struggle, your win cannot be far off!

God Bless!
Capt. Bill
