Voter's Remorse?

Tis' the season of giving and sharing, and our readers have been doing just that. Yesterday we almost doubled our readership, so it's apparent you're passing the word! I'd like to take a moment to welcome our new readers and invite everyone to also read Orrin Woodward and Chris Brady's blogs. The links are listed over on the right hand side for easy accessibility . They are #1 Wall Street Journal best selling authors and my idols. Their messages will enhance any man or woman's life, so please invest a few minuets and enjoy!

The most promising method of securing a virtuous and morally stable people is to elect virtuous leaders!

This is a principle of natural law, what our country's founding fathers based our society and it's laws on. I believe it was derived from this quote from Exodus 18:21

"...Thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness,(unjust gain); and place such over them, to be rulers..."

John Adams believed the future of the United States depended heavily on the virtue and the morality of the people. He said;

"Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate for the government of any other."

Perhaps that's why Washington has found it necessary to amend it so frequently? It doesn't fit the needs of a morally bankrupt people? Recent actions by our politicians, (notice I refrained from using leaders here), suggest they are going to have their agenda accomplished and damn the people. Apparently they've stooped so low as to threaten to remove our strategic command from Nebraska unless that state's representative complies and votes for their legislation. Threatening local jobs and the state's economy. Fortunately that presidential advisor isn't familiar enough with the system to realize it doesn't work that way. Left wing bloggers, those anti-moral activists, have tried to influence The Komen foundation to drop Joe Lieberman's wife from their payroll because he was being stubborn to their cause. Apparently universal healthcare is more important than women's breast cancer. Anybody else seeing a mixed message here?

Cicero said, "Justice can never be expected from laws arbitrarily passed in violation of the standards set up under the laws of Nature or the laws of the Creator."

He went on to question those who legislate badly; "If so great a power belongs to the decisions and decrees of fools that the laws of Nature can be changed by their votes, then why do they not ordain that what is bad and baneful shall be considered good and salutary? Or if law can make Justice out of injustice can it not also make good out of bad?" (ibid)

In the immortal words of Dr. Phil, "How's this working for you?" The time for change message was never more applicable. We need to find leaders of high moral fiber and character. Integrity is important in a politician, and it's showing. It's time to quit settling for the lesser of two evils at the ballot box and demand standards!

God Bless
Capt. Bill
