I was a little hard on Washington yesterday but hey, sometimes we need tough love. There is a government entity I adore, the military! Think about it, here's what they offer when you apply for service,(note I said service not job, because everyone in government is serving the public). First they teach discipline. How handy would that be in Washington? Second, they teach leadership! Whoa, we might be on to something here! They teach respect. They insure your physically fit for service. Okay I just had a moment here...Can you imagine Barney Frank on a obstacle course? They promote honor, character, courage and American pride! They inspire you to defend the flag and everything it stands for (one nation under God and all). Soldiers learn to defend those who can't defend themselves. They learn to protect our borders. Is it just me, or is all this the basics that are absent in Washington?
Here's a thought....How about we send all government employees to boot camp? From the interns and secretaries to the congressmen and women them selves! After they've learned they are here to serve and the following lessons....
Discipline
Leadership
Respect
Honor
Character
Courage
Physical fitness
Etc
Then they can assume a position in government. Perhaps the secular progressive's in Washington might learn to respect and love the flag, protect our borders, and be fiscally disciplined. Hey, it could happen!
