Hey Joe.....Where'd Ya Lay Our Money Down?

The current administration is fond of pointing out they took the 785 billion dollars in your tax money and saved or created a plethora of jobs. Now before I highlight how some of that stimulus money was spent, I'd like to point out according to the 18 million dollar, (tax money paid for remodeled web site), recovery.org, that 10% of that 785 billion dollars is unaccounted for. Missing, AWOL, can't find it. If my math is correct that's 78.5 billion dollars unaccounted for. That's a lot of coin! Since President Obama appointed Vice President to oversee this program, I'd like Joe to answer me this..... Where the heck is our money? That kind of cash could have created quite a few millionaires! While you ponder that let's look at how well Joe has distributed some of the cash.....

At the top of the list is a $5 million grant from the Department of Energy to create a geothermal energy system for the Oak Ridge City Center shopping mall in Oak Ridge, Tenn. The main problem with the project, is the fact the mall has been losing tenants for years and is mostly empty.

Two million dollars in stimulus money went to build a replica railroad as a tourist attraction in Carson City, Nev.

A dinner cruise company based in Chicago received nearly $1 million in funds to combat terrorism.

Half a million dollars went to Arizona State University to study the genetic makeup of ants to determine distinctive roles in ant colonies; $450,000 went to the University of Arizona to study the division of labor in ant colonies.

The State University of New York at Buffalo won $390,000 to study young adults who drink malt liquor and smoke marijuana. The National Institutes of Health got $219,000 in funds to study whether female college students are more likely to “hook up” after drinking alcohol.

The University of Hawaii collected $210,000 to study the learning patterns of honeybees, and $700,000 went to help crab fishermen in Oregon recover lost crab pots

Now I hate to be critical, but I must. Not only are these projects ridiculous based on their merits alone, none of these are long term employment opportunities. If your going to "invest" in America's future, should the jobs you attempt to create in fact have a future?

I could go on all day, and I just might, only not in this blog. So I hope the people I meet today are prepared.Mind you this is just a sampling of the phenomenal waste of the income you've donated to keep Washington operating in our best interest. I'm sure there is much more, I'm just not sure the average human can remain sane enough to root it all out!

Pray for us!

God Bless!
Capt. Bill
