HE DID IT!

If you've ever been around a large family, or been blessed to be part of one with many siblings, your probably aware that whenever something goes wrong there is a lot of finger pointing. After the barrage of "not me" and "I don't know," as a last resort the blame usually gets assigned to the same family member. This unlucky individual isn't always the culprit but is usually unfairly assigned the bulk load of the blame. The same applies in politics.

The Democrat party relies on a reputation of being on the side of the working class, Joe the plumber's best friend! The Republican party has garnered the reputation of being for the businessman, and the Wall Street fat cat. Are these reputation's earned, or just the result of assignment of blame? Let's look at one of the favorite programs of the democrat party.

Social Security was introduced by Franklin Delano Roosevelt, a Democrat. His original promise to the American people was that first it was voluntary. The second selling point was that they would only be taxed 1% of the first $1400 of their annual incomes. Third those contributions would be tax deductible. Fourth it would be kept in a separate fund completely removed from the general fund. And Fifth that annuity payments to recipients would never be taxed as income.

So as we are all aware Social Security is now mandatory, The taxed contribution by you and I is 7.65% on your first $90,000. It's no longer a tax write off. Under President Lyndon Baines Johnson, (a democrat) your Social Security tax money was moved to the general fund and spent.The tax deduction for Social Security was removed by the democrats. And under President Clinton, (a democrat) your being taxed on up to 85% of your retirement benefits from Social Security. Finally Jimmy Carter signed legislation to give benefits to people who never paid into the system, dooming it into insolventcy.

But the republicans are the party that wants to throw grandma under the bus! After violating the original contract (FICA), The Democrats turn around and tell you that the Republicans want to take your Social Security away!
