As I ramble through this wonderful experience called life, I often encounter lost souls who insist upon dwelling in the past. Most of it seeps with regret, and in some instances it defines the person. They all share one thing in common, they need to quit driving in the rear view mirror. The road to prosperity lies in front of us.
It's impossible to find happiness when your mired in a circumstance from the past. So many people hold grudges for some event in their history that sticks in their craw like gum on a shoe. "Forgiveness means letting go of the hope for a better past." It's done, passe', let it go and look toward the promise of a better tomorrow. I'll bet most of the individuals they hold a grudge about, aren't even aware they upset the grudge holder. Trust me, your not teaching them a lesson!
Then there is the "I once was," people. Well as the song goes, "you not as good as you once were," but you can be as good as you've ever been. If you were once accomplished at something, give me a reason that isn't an excuse, for why you can't achieve even greater heights! You've already proven you can do it, who told you it was time to drop anchor and stop sailing your course? It's not time to put a period at the end of the sentence, but time for a comma so you can continue.
With that said, the path to happiness lies in front of you. living in the past only leads to regret. Put those trophies and those grudges back on the shelf where they belong. Go meet the challenge of a new day and find a way to make it your own. Every second God grants us on His earth should be made our masterpiece. Our actions are a statement that we are the message, and because you were created by Almighty God you can fulfill his glory. Let someone else have the memory!
God Bless!
