Walking In Faith

I just got done reading an article about how Saturday Night Live did a segment lampooning Tim Tebow, freshman starting quarterback for the Denver Broncos. For those of you who don't know Mr Tebow expresses his Christian faith at every opportunity, to this a great many take exception. Now I understand humor, and the media's need to parody events in the news, but what was depressing was the comments that followed the article. It's amazing the number of people who are critical of someone that walks with God.

Here's my point, we've deteriorated this society to the point where it's an exception and mocked to openly love the Lord. Mankind has always ridiculed those who walked outside the norm, but to be exceptional, don't you by definition have to be different? Mr. Tebow has proven his ability to be exceptional both on and off the field, and for that he takes the wrath of those non-achievers. We've gotten to the point where we criticize what we don't understand even when by following that example we'd get better results. It's a sad commentary. The real humor is that his critics are the same people complaining about their lives because of a lack of spiritual success. Success leaves clues. When a man that every expert professes does not possess the traits to achieve greatness does so, there has to be intervention from above. Tim Tebow chooses to openly give all the glory to God, who ultimately is responsible for those talents, while those who live lives of insignificance mock. Even if Tim Tebow never completes another pass, his time on earth will remain a success because of his faith in God. How many of his critics can say the same?

God Bless!
Capt. Bill
