A Question of Integrity!

There is bound to be a myriad of candidates in the upcoming election cycle. Voters are just not happy with the status quo, and many are unsatisfied with their current representation. The shift in power in Washington has revealed some closet socialist, emboldened by a majority rule.

So how do we vet out the posers and decide who's the real deal? That's a great question, I'm glad you asked! We are all a little gun shy after the last voting catastrophe, after all we got change we weren't looking for. So I think it's important to listen to every word a candidate says, and make sure the message is consistent. If our getting conflicting messages at different venues, it's not something to overlook. That's the sign of a flip flopper, someone who votes the poles, not with principles. We need representation that stands for principles and is backed by the character and integrity necessary to withstand opposition. With a flip flopper you get someone who's likely to sell his vote for pork or vote an opinion poll to keep his job. We need politicians who can make the hard choices. We are going to have to make some difficult decisions to remain solvent financially in this country, and it's going to take politicians with backbone to do it. Trust me it's not going to be popular. No one likes to tighten their belt.

Another great method to weed out those who lack the qualities we seek is to look back on their life. What have they accomplished? Were they stand out leaders, or did they just vote present? Do they exude the track record of someone we'd follow? Are they the of the same integrity in the dark as they are in the spot light? These are all telling questions when answered. Mini scandals are precursors to bigger problems down the road. When faced with bigger integrity issues, they will have a tougher time staying the course. We were warned of issues with the current administration, but America was forgiving, and overlooked the obvious. Personality won our favor.

No one can, or should tell you how to vote. Just ask the right questions and seek answers, and we'll be fine. A great decider is to ask; Would I trust this individual in my home alone, or with my family? I'm looking for a few good politicians (is that an oxymoron?), who have the character and integrity to do the right thing, even when no one is looking, and the backbone to accept responsibility. Blaming others never gets the job done. Owning the problem is the key to solutions.

God Bless
Capt. Bill

How many more times are we going to fall for that one.
I think by this time we know better.
This time we must listen to the words that are being said and not the hype.
