Yesterday I bloviated about the decline in society that has led us to accept less than the truth. The ninth Commandment explains this in no uncertain terms.
"Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor."
But then when you move toward becoming a secular society any semblance of morality is abandoned. Now it is perfectly acceptable to abandon the truth applying the rational that it's just spin. AJ Nock said it best.
"Truth tampered with is truth lost."
There is no gray area when it comes to the truth. A lie is a lie, is a lie, period. And it's a sign of disrespect for one to try to feed you untruth. They assume your not intelligent enough to discern the difference between fact and fiction. Those individuals are attempting to prey upon you. This is exactly why society shunned liars back when truth mattered. It's also understood that if you associate with such individuals, your of the same cloth.
It's our responsibility to demand truth. How would you treat one who came to your face and declared you to ignorant to understand what they were saying? This is the statement a liar makes when they feed you their fantasy. Your not smart enough to see through my ruse! How arrogant and self serving could another be?
Honestly it's your choice, but I for one am done with liars. I intend to call for the truth from this day forward, and will correct anything I see that strays from that mandate. One man can make a difference, several can change society. Join me in demanding a just and moral society, accept no lie!
