A Leadership Tidbit!

Yesterday the news was a buzz with the insensitive remarks of one Todd Akin, the republican nominee from the great state of Missouri. There is no doubt in my mind that his individual has absolutely no business in a position of leadership, but then neither dose his opponent, Claire Mc Caskill. Neither one of them understands leadership or the principles this country was founded upon.

I think this picture says it all. Leadership requires you understand people and people skills. While I understand as humans we all make mistakes, we can whittle those inappropriate comments down to non-existent if we think about others first.

This blip in his career could have been avoided had he invested time in honing his leadership skills. This indiscretion reeks of someone who brought positional management into the realm of leadership. To manage is to control, to lead is to inspire. Voters don't wish to be controlled, that's right out of Communist Manifesto. as a leader your elected to serve, serve others, that's what leaders do.

This is the frustration America faces. Voters have to choose the lesser of two evils when opting for their representation. This screams of the problems with our country, we are void of leaders in positions of authority. We have much work to do. My prayer is Mr. Akin invest his time in leadership development and expands his people skills.

God Bless!
Capt. Bill
