If you read this blog, you're quite aware I'm a staunch defender of the Constitution. I believe it was a document designed by Divine Providence and is the key to the success of the longest standing Republic in history.
It's not uncommon for the liberals to misinterpret the First Amendment and twist the concept of the Establishment Clause to fit their desire for there to be a separation of church and state. Truthfully it was written to protect the Church from the government, not visa versa.
With that said, the founders blew it, not on purpose though! With all their foresight they could not have imagined the scope of today's media. Which brings me to my point. I purpose another amendment;
the separation of media and state, and not one that could be interpreted in any other way. No longer should we finance or permit media to influence government.
Media should be subject to the same free market principles as every other enterprise. If the message they are sending isn't popular enough to attract and audience and advertisers, then it needs to fall by the wayside until it finds a marketing strategy that draws viewers, listeners, or readers. No more government support of media endeavors.
Just as liberal Air America bit the dust because it lacked the content to sell advertising and entice listeners, so shall National Public Radio. If it's truly a "public" forum, then let it's listeners finance it. Withdraw the government funding.
God Bless!
Capt. Bill
