History has taught us that the world's greatest civilizations go through phases. The Romans, Greeks, French, Germans, and others have all followed this pattern. Our Republic has been the longest standing form of rule to date. For the past 200+ years we've maintained what our forefathers fought for while other nations have bounced around from socialism to anarchy, to communism and the like. There is a pattern that stands out and here it is:
Bondage is the beginning, people are repressed by a form of government that dictates how and what they do. This lack of freedom draws that society to spiritual faith, they are praying for strength and guidance. In prayer they find courage, this courage leads them to overthrow their tyranny and liberty steps in. They are a free people with choices. Freedom gives way to abundance, no longer restrained by a dictator, capitalism flourishes and the fruits of their labor is returned to the people. Abundance leads to greed and selfishness, man is flawed and without spiritual guidance, greed becomes his ruler. This leads us to where we are today, complacency, comfortable within our freedom. Complacency gives way to apathy, we take for granted our rights and we just don't care. Apathy is a footpath to dependency. We vote ourselves entitlement programs and become dependant on our Government, this is a dangerous situation, one we are teetering on. Dependency leads us right back to bondage, the Government has to tell us how to live and what to do. We gave them that right when we became complacent and took out freedom for granted.
Freedom is a gift, one we earn. We have to fight to keep it. Take it for granted and history proves you lose it. I see America dangerously close to the apathetic complacency that leads us down a road our forefathers fought so hard to defeat. Remember;
Bondage to
Spiritual faith to
Great courage to
Liberty to
Abundance to
Selfishness to
Complacency to **
Apathy to
Dependency back to
Bondage.
** YOU ARE HERE (like the road map says) Which route is America going down? We the people decide. Become informed, become involved. We can make a difference if we choose not to be dependent on Government.
God Bless
Capt. Bill
