Food for Thought!

Lou Holtz, one of the greatest college football coaches ever, and motivational speaker, weighed in on the healthcare issue. He said; "The way I see it is you only have two things to worry about, one your sick, two your healthy. If your healthy no problem, if your sick you have two things to worry about. One your gonna get better, two your not. If your gonna get better, no problem, if your not you have two problems. Am I going to heaven, or am I going to hell? If your going to heaven, no problem. If your going to hell you better get a second opinion!" Now that's funny!

The pundits have been busy all week pointing out Sarah Palin's poll popularity drop. Critics rage on about how she has no future in politics after stepping down as Alaska's Governor. If she truly is no threat politically why are they focusing so much attention on her? Are they just mean spirited, or does she really have them worried?

If a black police officer pulls over a white man for speeding, and hands him a ticket, is he being a racist? Can they both be summoned to the White House for a beer?

If small business is required to insure employees, and it is cheaper to insure single young employees, would it be safe to assume older employees with families will be discriminated against because it will significantly increase the company's overhead?

Since Chrysler is offering to double the cash for clunker rebate, and the money they are working with comes from the government bailout, will GM follow suit? Isn't this unfair to Ford, who accepted no federal money? Isn't the government involvement in effect harming Ford's ability to compete in the open market place, creating a tainted playing field?

Isn't it hypocritical to be anti gun, but pro abortion?

Does it seem counter productive to remove prayer from schools, but complain about our youth's lack of morals?

How does taxing energy use make the world a greener place? If you can buy energy credits when you need them, doesn't that just increase the price of consumption, not reduce it?

Does taxing a cigarette smoker make him healthier?

Has taxing alcohol reduced alcoholism?

If we legalize and tax pot, won't they still buy it on the street tax free?

I have so many questions!

God Bless
Capt. Bill
