As If It Were Their Own!

Not too long ago I wrote a post quoting the biblical phrase "The truth will set you free," and noted that if that is in fact so, that perversion of the truth is designed to keep us in bondage. A current example is the Bush tax cuts are about to expire, for at least a decade we've been told that tax cut was designed to benefit the wealthy of our country. This lie has been perpetuated by the media, and started by the democrats.

Truth be told, everyone got a tax cut, In fact the revenue lost from the cuts was higher for the middle class, than it was for the rich. If the middle class cuts are allowed to expire it'll generate over a trillion dollars of revenue annually, where the top 1% will have to pony up hundreds of billions of dollars. When I went to school a trillion was higher than hundreds of billions.

I find it interesting that Washington treats the suggestion of continuing these tax rates as a loss of revenue. Apparently they've misunderstood who's money taxes are. Statements from the current administration lean toward expectation of that revenue as if it's owed to them. In fact they've often said they need this money to address the debt. Here's a little ditty for you....Debt is caused by spending, not lack of revenue. If you wish to lower the debt, reduce spending. Novel idea, huh?
