It's a Front!

I listened to our first lady give a speech to the NAACP where she cried the woes of the public education system. No one can argue the lack of return for our tax dollar, but where are those dollars spent? Has anyone else noticed the schools that are being built resemble monuments, rather than cost efficient learning centers? Shouldn't that money, our tax dollars, be spent on teacher's salaries? It seems school boards want their legacy to be remembered with giant facilities as testimonies.

These are the ways of government largess. Take a long hard look at your city hall building. How about the other buildings that house government entities? Is it me or are they similar to the corporate headquarters of Microsoft? There is no attempt at frugality, in fact it actually reflects them flaunting their disrespect of budgetary concerns.

It seems they mask the lack of quality produced inside the building with a facade. It reminds me of the old "A-Team" program on TV where they would set up a front and run a scam. The difference being the "A-Team" made sure the good guy won. In government it's just a front for ineptness.

Let's demand responsibility for our tax dollar, both at the local level and in the federal government. It's our charge to hold politician's feet to the fire. Make yourself heard! Remember, what your willing to accept, you'll never change!
