The Color of Character

My last couple of posts ventured into the ignorance of racism. I broached this subject for a reason. Like other issues brought to light here, it's going to become an problem in America. I wanted to be sure we all understood when the race card is played it's usually to distract us from the facts. Whenever politicians can't accomplish their agenda they look to assign blame. That alone is a sign of a lack of character. When they play the race card, it's a sign of ignorance. Martin Luther King once dreamed that all men would be judged by the content of their character, not the color of their skin. To achieve that goal America has to quit seeing things in brown, yellow, black, and white. Promoting the race card is a sure sign the promoter is in fact a racist. To even get to that level of thinking you have to label people by color in your mind, or you'd never consider it an issue. It's as absurd as saying a task couldn't be accomplished because they had brown eyes or red hair. Unlike the color of skin excuse, you never hear those used, because they are insane.

To that point you might remember Van Jones, our green jobs advisor. He does have a label, it's communist, by his own admission. He's also fond of saying the white man is responsible for polluting America, spraying poison on farm workers, causing 9/11, and other racial remarks. His ire for humanity is drawing a great deal of attention as a member of the president's advisory board. The country is calling for his resignation after his verbal ignorance has been brought to light. Should that come to fruition, and I believe it's inevitable, chances are pretty good it'll be the white mans fault too. At this time I'd like to point out to Van, that unless his speech writer was caucasian, and someone else signed him up for those communist and radical groups, and a ventriloquist put those words in his mouth, he himself is responsible.

This administration is going to fall apart. Many will look to assign blame. The easy cop out is the race card. The Governor of New York is about to be ousted, he's playing the race card and warning President Obama he's going to be the next victim. Elected officials are claiming America wants Obama to fail because of the color of his skin. This ugly abuse of racism is demeaning to the people who were actual victims of it. I'll label it for what it is...A lack of character and accountability. That's the card to be played here.

God Bless
Capt. Bill
