I was rereading a leadership book published in 2005, and I noticed some teaching that politicians might take advantage of, current and future politicians.
" Leaders take responsibility for their actions and for their decisions."
" The leader takes responsibility for the results. The leader does not make excuses. A leader does not blame others. A leader does not evade duty."
"Good leaders realize they alone are ultimately responsible for their failure or success of their efforts. They do not establish alibis or look to assign blame to others."
"If your talking about your effort, your results must be poor."
"If something goes wrong, leaders take the blame. If something goes well, they share the credit."
"Leaders take responsibility, period!"
All these tidbits, though apropos today were written long before this administration took office. It would be wonderful to watch both sides of the aisle learn and apply these principles. Perhaps I should send them all copies of "Launching A Leadership Revolution" -by Chris Brady and Orrin Woodward. Do you think they'd read it?
God Bless!
Capt. Bill
