"Even the rudder begs direction!"
What an outstanding quote! The mightiest of battleships, the commodity laden tanker, the most majestic of tall sailing ships, or your personal watercraft is dead in the water without a firm hand on the rudder. The rudder is a key component to the operation and the direction of every ship, yet it's useless without someone to point it in the right direction. It has to humble itself to guidance to keep the ship on course. Without that guidance those vessels are just adrift, wandering aimlessly upon the sea, never able to arrive at their destination.
So too are we. Who supplies you your direction? What is the firm hand on the tiller in your life? Are you adrift upon the sea at the mercy of shifting tides and prevailing winds? The phrase moral compass comes to mind, because without morals you have no discipline, and without discipline you have no direction, and without direction you don't get the results you desire. It's a great argument to have with yourself, who has their hand on your rudder?
God Bless!
Capt. Bill
