Intelligent Evolution?

I heard a great analogy the other day, the topic was evolution Vs intelligent design theory. Evolution being the theory that after two particles bumped into each other we've morphed out of some creatures who crawled out of the resulting slime and evolved into modern man. Intelligent design is based upon a faith that there is supreme being and the universe and life as we know it was on purpose.

I've listened to the two arguments and I have to say the evolution one has some serious flaws. Believers in the evolution theory are quick to point out they don't believe in the possibility of a deity and how unlikely and unbelievable that is. Basically it's because they cannot explain it away, it requires faith. Yet in the very next breath they will purpose that two particles randomly bumped into each other, there was a massive explosion, and the universe began. Then I ask....Where did the two particles come from? You see I need belief too.

While it is quite the miracle we exist, it's no accident. Think of the process in which animals hear. It's just too involved and duplicated to be a random event. The body works in concert. Our breathing transfers oxygen to our blood stream, which in turn feeds the brain, we exhale carbon dioxide, which plant matter uses to survive while converting it back into usable oxygen for us to survive. If that's not by design, it's one heck of an accident. Very similar to someone putting all the parts required to build a car into a garage, then there is a big explosion, and low and behold a Ferrari appears. And they say our belief is a stretch!

Let's say by chance I'm wrong in my belief, what's the consequences? If the evolution people are in error, their salvation is lost. Is it worth taking the chance? When you look at this whole proposal from a logical standpoint, intelligent design wins out. The funny part is evolutionist's argument is they can't find the logic in intelligent design........

God Bless!

There are several branches of science. The branch of science called evolutionary biology says nothing about the universe. Evolution only explains the diversity of life on earth.

"Let's say by chance I'm wrong in my belief, what's the consequences? If the evolution people are in error, their salvation is lost. Is it worth taking the chance?"

Accepting the reality of evolutionary biology is not taking a chance. People like yourself who deny evolution, which is the most important basic fact of biology, are doing a lot more than taking a chance. They are wasting their lives believing in a childish fairy tale. They don't know what they're missing because the history of life as explained by the science of evolution is many thousands of times more interesting than supernatural magic.

"While it is quite the miracle we exist, it's no accident. Think of the process in which animals hear. It's just too involved and duplicated to be a random event."

Your use of the words "accident" and "random" shows you don't understand natural selection. Using your example "hearing", if an animal can't hear a predator about to attack it, it's going to be killed before it's old enough to reproduce, and its genes will disappear from the population. An animal that has what it takes to escape from the attack will reproduce and pass on its superior genes to the next generation.

Small advantages accumulate, and over a vast period of time, thousands of generations, a species will change, and sometimes change so much they extremely gradually develop into new species, especially if a different environment requires those changes to survive.

You really need to study biology. You're making a big mistake if you let your religious fantasies get in the way of understanding how the natural world works.

  2. Mr. Ape, do you really feel that you're doing a service to science and academia by defending evolution (purely natural causation), when the evidence is overwhelming (to borrow an evo adjective) in favor of intervention along the way?

I study biology and genetics nearly daily, have no a priori religious bent, and will debate you, Dawkins, or any other lemming that refuses to budge from the present 'consensus' paradigm. The reason? It's simply that ID is evidence based.

Let's start with a discussion of non-evolvable complexity. The vertebrate/ invertebrate eye(s), whale evolution, avian flight mechanisms, or (your choice). I accept common descent and an old earth.

  3. Instead of a Ferrari can we do a Harley.
Anyone can think what they want anyone can say what they want BUT!! the facts speak for them selves.
    Fact JESUS walked the earth!
Theory the big bang not a fact.
Fact a bear well you know the woods.
Theory man came from little snails.
    Show me the fact's!
Fact, come out of coma's and miracle cures that science CAN'T!! explain away other then "DIVINE" intervention.
Humm! "DIVINE" intervention what does that mean?? fact or fairy tale??
"DIVINE" intervention is that a scientific word
used by science or is it used only by people who waste there time believing in the maker of EVERYTHING! HUM!! can't have it both ways now can we or BUSH he's the one to blame BUSH he started all this he cause the economy to collapse the world would be a better place if BUSH was never President.
You know he got us in to 2 wars at the same time.
Now jimmy carter he was a real President unlike BUSH he never went to war.
WAIT! what dose BUSH have to do with the subject of science.
Get the idea of the answer your going to get when what they've herd is blown out of the sky.
I think I'll go and talk to that broom handle because I know from the get go I'm "WASTING " my time better to wast it talking to a broom handle...................................
GOD is my strength and energy.

    Thank you for your time.
    .........................I MAN
OHH!!!!!!!!!! yeah some of you know me and about my pass why was it that when we beat up an atheist he cried out "oh GOD help me".
So who was this GOD they called, if you an atheist believe there is "NO GOD" who where they calling.
