April Fool!

The first of April is upon us. Spring is in the air, the start of regular baseball season is just around the corner, and today is a day for fools. Here I sit approaching a crossroads, where does this go from here? Do I point out the fools in Washington, or the fools we've been for letting it get to this point? There is the fool I've not considered.....The fool that is satisfied with what's going on in our country.

Washington is a victim of technology. Legislators can't make a move anymore without someone capturing it on a video, or recording it on a cell phone. It exposes the corruption and the opens our eyes like never before. It also reveals what isn't, or hasn't happened. The recent instance where cries of racial slurs being hurled at minority house legislators remains unsubstantiated, despite Andrew Brightbart offering $10,000.00 for any video or audio proof. The police escorts standing right beside the alleged victims also failed to hear the unwarranted slurs. Perhaps technology also has the advantage of keeping us from being played for fools, and exposes those who try to make us fools. If a racial slur is hurled in a crowd of thousands and no one hears it, did it really happen?

We live in the information age, where fools are exposed everyday. I offer for your consideration You Tube, an entire industry dedicated to entertaining us with fools. It'll be increasingly difficult to be a fool, without being discovered and exposed. Washington is going to have to reform, or find another level of deception!

Here's my prayer...That this level of technology we've arrived at will enforce honesty and integrity with the fear of being exposed. That we'll not achieve a new level of deception, but yield to what's right and good!
