Fidelity and Leadership

Leadership requires trust. If your appointed to, elected, or just followed because your admired, you bear responsibility to those you influence. After all leadership is defined as influence. Your ability to make sound judgments are reflected in your actions. I have to ask. How can you be trusted to make well thought out, life and death decisions affecting people's lives, if you can't make the simple decision to remain trustworthy to the one you swore fidelity to in front of God, family, and friends? This is the cancer that plagues our leaders and public figures.

Should a leader decide to file for moral bankruptcy it would be far better they make a sound decision to resign and drop out of public life prior to the act. Avoiding the hypocrisy of being exposed and humiliated, the price demanded for the theft of our trust.

Imamanoncall left this under comments for yesterdays blog. I thought it might be helpful relaying your thoughts to your reps.

  1. The way I see it in today's world something is lost. Some people earn it, some demand it, some want it. some take it by fear. Then there are those that get it as part of their job. Like Judges, Police, Athletes, CEO's. Firemen, Congressmen, Etc. What is it you ask? The core value of RESPECT!. It starts with self respect. If you don't have it how can you give it? This is what being lost in today's world. The value of RESPECT for yourself.
